    Expendables III Disappointing

Not a review as advertised cause this case of threequelitus doesn’t deserve it. The previous film was an improvement from it’s predessor. Jean-Claude Van Damme being the best villian in this franchise despite his name deriving from the aforementioned word. Muscles from Brussels delivering his trademark round-house kick is just the-tip-of-the-iceberg to that awesome brutal climax.

“Ticking Bomb” by Aloe Blacc stands out only out-of-context to what goes on-screen with the stars forced to sitting-on-ass after Terry Crews’ Ceasar gets wounded by Mel Gibson (Stonebanks) with the rest following suit including Wesley Snipes (Blade) regardless of his tax-evasions joke. Expected the knife rivally between Jason Stetham (Lee Christmas) to be throughout the film not bookended.

“Out with the old, in with the new” in the ignorant fashion is the mantra of this final installment which completely destroys the whole concept. MMA Fighter, Ronda Rousey’s Luna was nothing but sexist. Maggie (Nan Yu) in addition the short-lived Billy The Kid (Liam Hemsworth) had respect for Barney Ross’ crew more then these nobodies that have little-to-no acting experience in the action-genre. None of the additional people (Mars) didn’t develop by the end instead sing Neil Young’s “Old Man” to top off their arrogance despite some potential with the hacker, Thorn (Glen Powell).

Harrison Ford (Drummer) commenting about Church (Bruce Willis) not being a problem anymore sounded like a bitch-slap in-spite-of that one million dollar fee fiasco. Story-wise, Bruce Willis’ character redeemed himself by joining-the-fight at the airport with Schwarzenegger along with Lone-Wolf Norris. Antonio Barbaras (The Mask of Zorro) gets reduced to obnoxious Motor Mouth instead of another badass like El Mariachi in Desperado. Rambo (Stallone) will curb-stomp no matter how crazy Martin Riggs gets.

First Look at Immature League: Throne of Atlantis

Preview for the next DC animated feature attached to Assault on Arkham, which was okay despite Harley Quinn’s pretentous nudity is online.

Sam Witwer’s voice acting in the Star Wars franchsie was stellar with characters such as Starkiller, The Son, and especially Darth Maul. Jerry O’Connell (Sliders) is a pretty good substitute voicing The Man of Steel since he did an excellent job as Captain Marvel (not Shazam) since Billy is supposed to be more of a boyscout then Clark not this brat who should’ve been their new Black Adam. Rob Lowe (Wayne’s World) also did well in his short-stint on Young Justice. Rosario Dawson (Sin City) sounds more intelligible then Michelle Monaghan’s idiotic portrayal of Themyscira’s ambassador as opposed-to having played the cold-hearted Artemis previously.

So this is the Aquaman film Geoff Johns tweeted about months ago? I would’ve prefered a solo outing instead. Introducing your protangonist at the aimless stage in their lives has run it’s course. Heath Corson must be kidding himself to say they never wrote an angry character. Thanks for continuing to tarnish Flash with more Bat-Worshipping.

Still hate the Superman/Wonder Woman romance since the rebound. Hopefully, Henry Cavill along with Gal Gadot’s characters stick strictly to a partner/friendship bases in Dawn of Justice. Jason Momoa better dye his hair blonde at least since he might be playing the anti-hero version that I’m not fond of.

    Guardians of the Galaxy Review

Like most general audiences, I wasn’t familar with this team outside their TV appearance in last year’s Avengers cartoon but I’ve had cautious optimism going in.

Best character in the film (hands down) was Groot, The Flora Colossus mainly because he wasn’t sociopathic nor greedy like the other criminals or thief are. Vin Diesel (Pitch Black) brought similar level of heart he had voicing Iron Giant back in 99′.

Funniest moment comes during the climax when he impales Ronan the Accuser’s army, then slams them across the Dark Aster spaceship’s corridor probably eleven times, and afterwards turns back to face Star-Lord played by Chris Pratt (Parks and Recreation) along with Drax the Destroyer with the most endearing childlike smile was absolutely hillarious.

Speaking of said-person, Dave Bautista surprised me with his emotional range as Arthur Douglas wiether or not he’s the modified human or just-another-alien is vague. Completely bought his motivation when he confronts his family’s killer while intoxicated after foolishly sending a direct message while at the Knowhere colony. An exception-to-the-rule regarding wrestlers-turned-actors not working despite Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson seems like a nice-guy. Gamora (Zoe Saldana) thankfully wasn’t sexualized as trailers made her out to be. Topless scene not there, ass along with kleevage shots go by in a montage so fast it’s unnoticeable.

Nebula’s fued with her adopted sister in the beginning reminded me of the Kitana/Mileena sibling-rivilary from the Mortal Kombat franchise. In-actually she cares about her surrogate relative. Out of all their past siblings she hated her the least as she says in-spite-of evil-acts she commits. However, she follows Thanos (their adopted father) out-of-fear similar but different to Loki’s dread he has to be feeling (which still hasn’t been addressed) after failing to conquer Midgard. Benicio Del Toro’s Collector performance improved this time-around then-in Thor’s after-credit scene.

Soundtrack had good collections of seventies in-addition eighties music which are my kind-of-tunes. Peter Quill dancing on Planet Morag to “Come and Get Your Love” by Redbone while kicking or using these nasty little alien gritters as a microphone has been implanted in my brain since first-viewing heartfelt moment with Peter’s mom dying from cancer then getting abducted by Yondu Udonta (Michael Rooker). Blue Swede’s “Hooked on a Feeling” used in all the advertisements became minute in-comprassion. “Black Tears” is where Tyler Bates’ score really hits the mark when the group use their power to destroy the Free.

Didn’t find Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper) completely unlikeable examples being comprise his escape plan after Monster from Planet X comically pulls out the prison’s battery out of the wall (while Drax looks-on) or getting Quill to steal an immates’ mechincal leg just for laughs. Insulting Art’s pain although pointing out the recklessness taking on Ronan’s forces in a populated area or joking while Nova Corps member, Denarian Saal (Peter Serafinowicz) calls-out to him before getting crushed-to-death by a Necrocraft does take points off.

Quill along-wth Ranger Rocket (or Ranger Rick as Quill calls him) remain morally-ambiguous by the end in-spite dangers they have or will face later on. Robert Downey’s Tony Stark will always remain narcissistic no matter what screenwriters put him through. Debuting Josh Brolin’s Mad Titan wasn’t a good first impression having been rendered entirely CG. At least Damion Poiter (Star Trek 09′) was in-full-costume minus his face.

Space Gem that might’ve been used to invade multiple planets at conce is used as the MacGuffin-that-will-destroy-everything (also plot-convience) like mishandling the Power stone..again. TPTB haven’t been building up the indiviual abilites these jewels can do before the big-payoff comes in Earth’s Mightest Heroes’ threquel very well.

Overall, it’s definitely more enjoyable then Thor: The Dark World but that’s not saying much but it wasn’t an insufferable farce like Iron Man 3 on the brightside.

    Rating: 7 1/2

While it wasn’t another Age of Ultron (Winter Soldier) forshadow or the Infinity Gaunlet overarch foretell, Howard The Duck voiced by Seth Green (Robot Chicken) atonishingly in Taneleer Tivan’s throng was something yours trully never expect Marvel Studios would pull.

SDCC: Avengers – Age of Ultron

I waited until all the indiviual posters were released before talking about the big panel at San Diego International for Earth’s Mightest Heroes’ upcoming sequel.

The first film succeeded my expectations as I’ve briefly mentioned in my previous Update posts. Swarms of Ultron robots definitely tops the Chitauri’s forces. Paul Bettany (Master and Commander: Far Side of the World) certainly got promoted by Marvel Studios to go from being the voice of Jarvis, who’s going to be an actual person who’s loyal to Howard Stark as opposed to his son in Agent Carter to portraying The Vision also Ultron’s son. He’s definitely sporting a modified version of the classic John Buscema yellow and green outfit on the left-hand corner.

James Spader (Stargate) will do a great job from leaked audio from the footage (Ant-Man aswell) shown that got taken down. A somber version of Pinocchio’s “I’ve Got No Strings On Me” (Ultron references) definitely makes the stakes sound very grim especially with Captain America’s shield broken.

I’m still looking forward to this version of Quicksilver with Aaron Taylor Johnson (Godzilla was meh) in the role despite Evan Peter’s suprisely entertaining performance as Pietro Maximoff in X-Men: Days of Future Past (kitchen scene priceless) also an amazement. Josh Brolin’s Thanos‘ over-arcing threat will come to attention when Guardians of the Galaxy hits theatres this week anyway.

Wasn’t thrilled Don Cheadle’s Rhody appearing in the film. He’s such a total tool for stealing an Iron Man suit (War-Machine) for his so-obivious corrupted superior-officier to “get The Senate off his ass” followed by pushover with the general’s double entendre, “you made your country (me) proud” (Red Flag) ‘without question or oppostion later-on. Joss Whedon can give Rhodes his authority (balls) back hopefully.

SDCC: First Look at Wonder Woman

Even though I had to work but thankfully got-off early, yours trully managed to keep track regarding the Warner Bros. panel on my phone for Zack Snyder to debut the early still of Gal Gadot (Fast & Furious 6) as The Goddess of Truth.

Holy Sh*t was my initial reaction because I’m growing optimistic for this potential turning-point intented for the Israeli actress. Immediately played the End Title theme from the animated film on my IPod after getting closer inspection on my laptop.

This amalgam of the Post-Crisis/52 uniform works akin to Henry Cavill’s Superman suit. Glad the eagle on the breastplate that form the W symbol aswell on the belt is still gold not silver. The star on her tiara is eight-pointed rather then the traditional crimson five-pointy insignia. Leather underneath the gaunlets together to the straps across her chest to holster the lasso (maybe a shield) compilments everything well.

As long as the ambassador to Themyscira isn’t portrayed as a cynical, sexist, war-seeking (image implies) woman-child, I’ll be happy. Diana Prince should be the balance between the other two heroes in The Trinity also the one who sees Kal-El’s dilemma cause (let’s face it) Batfleck will be too thick-headed/crazy enough to realize the circumstances that happened in Man of Steel being Mr. Angst then supposed World’s Greatest Detective furthermore for god sake no love-triangle between Lois, Clark, and Diana.

    First Look at Superman

USA Today reveals Henry Cavill’s modified Man of Steel outfit for the prelude to Justice League.

The more time I spend with Henry, the more he’s Superman to me. – Zack Snyder

It appears the gauntlets have been elevated more up the forearms even though they could’ve been reduced in length in the first film. Still don’t have a problem with the red trunks’ absense cause it calls attention to The Man of Tomorrow’s nether region. The suit looks pretty much the same aside from mentioned above. However, the tone along with the location in this still even now makes me dread the moment more.

All that’s left is a glimpse of Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman uniform since I want to give her the-benefit-of-the-doubt despite her track record and some footage Comic Con at the end of this month to peak my optimsim.

Latino Review apparently is scooping the villains to be included are Victor Zsaz, David Cain, Morgan Edge, and Amanda Waller. That’s two Batman adversaries (one rehashed) concerning Supes’ foes (Brainiac) which is obivious Darkseid foreshadowing since the Metropolis crime-lord had ties with the God of Evil like Bruno Mannheim did just taking the aforementioned information with a grain-of-salt.

Henry Cavill on Justice League Prequel Set

The RMCTF (Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund) posted this picture on their Twitter account of the English actor in mild-mannered reporter, Clark Kent garb (minus the glasses) for Warner Brothers’ trailer to the upcoming catch-up film.

    WZSJT3K

One of my beefs with Man of Steel was that the film didn’t develop Clark’s interest in journalism unless those nomadic jobs were supposed to count for his movitation to pursue a career that allows him to stay close with humanity as supposed then to be closer to Lanis (name for Lana posing as Lois) or the fact we weren’t shown nor told any credientals.

Hopefully this side of the character will finally be portrayed as a compentent Daily Planet employee instead of the irritating opposite. “The Late Mr. Kent” from The Animated Series showed how good he was at his job. The Kansas farmboy (being the character) even published some best-selling novels (Under a Yellow Sun) in comparison to Lois Lane’s accomplishments in the Post-Crisis Universe. That all seems highly unlikely considering how desperate this studio is to compete with Marvel.
