Amy Adams is Lois Lane

Continuing the casting that’s been made, LA Times’ Hero Complex claims that the three-time Oscar nominee (also guest star from the worst episode of Season 1 of Smallville, “Craving” ) will fill the heels of The Daily Planet’s top reporter.

The 36-year-old star got the news on Sunday from director Zack Snyder, who phoned her from Paris, where he was promoting his just-opened film, “Sucker Punch.” There had been a crush of Hollywood interest in the lead female role in the Warner Bros. project but Snyder said that after meeting with Adams, she was the clear choice to take on a character that dates back to 1938 and has long represented the strong, professional woman who can hold her own against any man – even if he can leap tall buildings in a single bound.

I agree with the responses I’ve read when this news broke that she’d make a better Lana Lang (considering she’s a natural redhead) then Ms. Lane. But first and foremost, if there’s no chemistry between her and Cavill then the whole Lois & Clark dynamic doesn’t work.

Overall, I don’t mind this choice as long as Lois has a balancing attitude and doesn’t become too bitchy (Superman’s Failure) or clueless (All-Star Superman), I’ll be happy.
