    "Echo" Review

The teaser with the Metropolis P.D. hostage situation was a crowd-pleaser, but Superman whacking Toyman’s accomplice full force was careless on the director’s part. Hopefully he grows out the phase of leaving his S behind every time he saves the day.

Oliver’s continuing downward spiral wasn’t dull and boring as most people thought it would be. Even Mercy tried to help him, but in her mind she enjoyed his weakness. She now runs both Luthorcorp and Queen Industries after Oliver relinquished control at the party.

I wonder if this will motivate him later on in the season to sell the company and go back to square one, sticking up for the little guy as opposed to being the one in charge solving the bigger problems. That is a job for The Man of Tomorrow.

Tom Welling definitely brings out The Man of Steel’s mannerisms, especially in the scene where Lois interviews the hostages at the hospital. Hearing peoples’ thoughts was put to good use, mainly in the Clois bits, which were delightful.

Of course, Chloe lectures him yet again after Clark stands up Lois. Characters have gotten angry at Clark for no reason, dating back to season two. The only person who should be lecturing him is Jor-El. Allison Mack’s character is again standing in the way of Lois and Clark.

Chris Gauthier plays a psychopath very well. I was surprised by the robot duplicate at the end. The exchange between Clark and Winslow was done well.

The ending leaves more questions then answers. After shooting him in the kneecap, did Mercy hire Winslow to reactivate Metallo or figure out how to use the Kryptonite heart as a weapon against Zod? I’m still not sold on that storyline because the Legion ring in the finale was programmed to go their time period in the year 3009, not a one year leap. Lazy continuity.

    Rating: 7

Didn’t mind it the blatant Saw episode in Season 5 with Lionel and Martha, but again with Oliver and Lois is just recycled material, even for this show.

    Dark Archer aka Merlyn?

Kryptonsite spoilers suggest that actor Steve Bacic, who appeared as Hank McCoy in X2, will be playing this character that has similarities to the Green Arrow villain from the source material.

    – New spoiler from Entertainment Weekly’s Ausiello: “Oliver will meet the bad guy version of the Green Arrow (a.k.a. the Dark Archer) in episode 10.”

    • The “Dark Archer” is an old mentor of Oliver’s from a Celtic cult of assassins.

In the comics he was a member of Ra’s Al Ghul’s organization. Like Vandal Savage and Shadow Thief, this looks to be another DC villain under a different alias again.

    Sinestro Casting

Rumor from Harry of AICN says Jackie Earl Haley is in the running to play opposite Ryan Reynolds as Hal’s mentor and future adversary.

“Right now, Martin Campbell is in the process of finalizing the rest of the cast for GREEN LANTERN to surround Ryan Reynolds with.

That part is solid, what isn’t – and won’t be till it all gets finalized – is the fact that JACKIE EARLE HALEY is leading the list to play SINESTRO!!!”

Haley is short compared to Renyolds who’s 6′ 2″ and Sinestro is taller then Hal. Despite that, I think Haley could do a good job.

The article goes on to say the Superman cameo is still possible, whether or not Brandon Routh will show up or they’ll recast is still up in the air.

    First Look at Roulette

Initially I thought this looked like Chun Li’s evil sister and no I’m not referring to the Kristen Kreuk version. From the DCAU to the way she’s drawn in the comics, I always thought she was Caucasian. But then again, her hair and dress does imply some Asian descent.

But from spoilers, this episode seems more like a framed-for-murder story then about the fight club that was brought up again in the season premiere.

    Smallville "Crossfire" Images

The highlight that the majority are talking about. That’s one for the history books.

Clark’s blind date with Cat Grant, who’s star of her talk show on WGBS also had a crush on the mild mannered reporter. Emilie Ullerup does kind of resemble Laura Vandervoort.

A glimpse of Elise Gatien as Mia, the future Speedy. What I recall, she’s blonde in the comics not brunette. Guess the producers think audiences will get “too confused” about that many blondes running around on the show.

What the hell is DB doing there? We saw in “Metallo” and “Rabid” attempting to get in between Lois & Clark and a deleted scene from the Season 8 DVD showed Lois giving her the chance to work at The Planet again just screams so many bad signs to come for the second half of the season.

In Raven’s words from the Teen Titans cartoon episode “Spellbound”, “GO…AWAY.”

    Toyman vs. Ollie: Round 2

I wasn’t keen in “Requiem” last season of Winslow being an adversary to Oliver then Clark.

But this image of our hero confronting the fat bastard intales that maybe this will set the stage for future vendettas against Superman.

    Smallville “Rabid” Review

Quick thoughts about the episode previously. Metallo was done justice and Brian Austin Green did a good job with the role that would’ve turned real sappy if it were played by anyone else.

Now onto the point of this article, this wasn’t a complete waste of time as I thought prier to airing, it definitely was entertaining. Erica Durance as Zombie Lois gives Clark a run for his money. Where 28 Days Later gave us fast running, Smallville brings inhuman strength for these monsters into the equation. Calling The Blur/Superman “Studly Do Right” was the best quote.

Again Lois gets hit unlike Metallo’s bitch slap into the pipes which technically should’ve left severe injures. Chloe is nothing but a distraction, her death better still happen and not change in the second half.

    Rating: 7

Hearing thoughts apart of Kal-El’s training should be fun to watch. Maybe he’ll find out Dumb Blonde’s intentional killing from “Identity”, realizes she can’t be trusted.

The Luthor dummy is a nice touch. Even though hasn’t been around that much these days.

    Lois & Clark vs. Zombies

Exactly what this clip is about for tonight’s episode, “Rabid”.

While this does look to be filler, could be fun to watch. Of course Lois got infected, so here’s what she looks like.

“She’s coming to get you Clark.”
