    The Fly Remade Again

The 1958 ending is number one on my list of Scariest Moments which you can view here.

But according to Hollywood Reporter, Cronenberg will bring his 1986 remake to the big screen for a second round.

A return to “The Fly” would also mark the latest in a mini-trend of directors
remaking their own work. Michael Haneke last year remade his thriller “Funny
Games” while Werner Herzog reimagined his doc “Little Dieter Needs to Fly” with
    the 2006 feature “Rescue Dawn.”

Even with the same director, it’s not going to capture the same level of suspence and gross out factor. The majority of Brundle’s transformation will be 100% CG and less practical. An aspect of visual effects that’s not used anymore, so there’s no point to it.

    Gotham City Sirens #3

With my constant schedule shifts at work, it makes writing for the site a little difficult.

Harley is missing and it’s up to Edward Nygma to find her while getting into some friction with Poison Ivy and Catwoman. But the issue is about him and Dick Grayson/Batman up against some crazy Riddler wannabes, led by a female called Conundrum wanting to join the club.

What Scott Lobdell does very well is portraying Nygma as a gentlemen of society, even in the face of sudden death or his criminal record. There’s especially a humorous moment where he lies about Bats putting a GPS in his cane, suprising Dick in the Batmobile miles away.

A good read, but as a fan of this villian he should always be reserved, not smiling from ear to ear and letting out a burst of laughter like The Joker.

    "Symphony for The Devil" Thoughts

Last night’s season 5 premiere of Supernatural which continues the previous Heaven & Hell storyline was pretty good.

The teaser was extremely done well. Just when The Winchesters are about to bite the dust from The Prince of Darkness himself, the next thing there on a plane that’s showing a Looney Tunes cartoon with Yosemite Sam in the boiler room.

Once again, Jensen Ackles delivers the goods. The scenes with crazy fangirl, Becky were humorous by the opposite performance of Jared Padalecki. Meanwhile Lucifer torments this guy named Nick, in the guise of his wife, who was brutally murdered along with his child and convinces him to be his vessel.

The revelation Dean as the vessel of Michael will be interesting to see, if it happens all in the finale. But the way it was revealed under term of “The Sword” was kind of lame. But the thing that honestly susprised was Bobby getting poccessed. But snaps out of it by stabbing himself with Ruby’s knife, to which I thought that was it for Jim Beaver’s character which could still happen.

You can’t keep Castiel down for long as he opens up a can of whoop ass on Zachariah’s other angels that helped jumpstarted The Apocalypse. But in the end, things aren’t good for Dean who doesn’t trust his brother after being an unknowing accomplice aswell. Curious to see what happens next week.

    Inglourious Basterds Review

After the lacklustered Grindhouse flick, I thought Quentin Tarantino is losing touch and unfortunately it still shows.

On the positive side, Chistoph Waltz as the Nazi Colonel nicknamed “The Jew Hunter”, Hans Landa was the highlight of the movie. His acting was absolutely amazing. The level of instensity he shows strangling Bridget Hammersmark (Diane Kruger) to death was unbelievable but in the good way. There was definitely a great dynamic brewing between him and Brad Pitt that sadly isn’t explored deep enough.

Fassbender’s performance as a British officer impressed me, maybe Burke won’t be so over the top in Jonah Hex as I’ve feared. Eli Roth was okay as The Jew Bear, even with his bad horror reputation.

The biggest problem is the subplot about the Jewish girl’s revenge on the Third Reich ends up stealing the show out from under the feet of characters this film was supposed to be about, making the platton’s entire operation by having dynamite strapped to their legs in the climax so amateurish.

Like his other movies, there are chapters but another issue is the beginning has stained with reused music cues, the most notable being Kill Bill. Once again the director shows lack of editing skills by having the long conversations that are supposed to build tension is overdone real quick.

While Hans was awesome, his 180 about coming out of the war a hero comes totally out of left field. Overall, I liked it but not something I’d put on my favorite list.

    Perry Returns?

TV Guide tells what we already know about the ninth season, the JSA, Roulette, Wonder Twins(ugh), etc.

Aside from introducing the Mia/Speedy as opposed to Roy Harper for Oliver’s upcoming sidekick story in 9×17, “Crossfire”, the future editor of The Planet might make his long overdo reappearence on the show.

And remember ol Perry White, last seen as an alcoholic tabloid reporter in
season three (played by Michael McKean)? Peterson says ‘The Chief’ may finally
be “working his way to the Daily Planet.”

The last mention of Mr. White was back in “Gone” of S4 where Jonathan Kent Kent read the front page article of Lionel’s conviction that was written by the good ol Chief.

With Mercy shacking with Zod as her part in the main story arc this year, it’s seems unlikely she’ll be back in the position she was in previously. Despite having another boss, the producers could easily take that guy out, leaving that office chair open for the right person in charge for the great metropolitan newspaper.

    Disney Owns Marvel?!

Market Watch says that the company Stan built that enormous amount of stock is being taken over by the magicial world of Walt.

“Disney is the perfect home for Marvel’s fantastic library of characters
given its proven ability to expand content creation and licensing businesses,”
said Ike Perlmutter, Marvel’s Chief Executive Officer. “This is an unparalleled
opportunity for Marvel to build upon its vibrant brand and character properties
by accessing Disney’s tremendous global organization and infrastructure around
    the world.”

What? This is the lamest business move I’ve ever heard. The corperation have the right to do whatever they want to what’s in their pockets. If it’s true that means they’ll twist and turn our favorite heroes and villians in ways that will have us screaming bloody murder. Crossovers, another Amalgam, or worst of all, censorship.

    The Incredibles: Family Matters

Being one of my favorite Pixar films, I saw G-Man of Comic Vine‘s review of an issue of Boom Studios’ comic tie in where Mr. Incredible losing his powers, which sucks for Bob because he’s a hero first and foremost.

After a long delay, finally got the time to read it from start to finish. Decent story with Elasticgirl’s arch enemy, Organa’s vengeance of cake and cookies that can nutrize her powers. But Bob unknowingly eats it instead and is forced to use the direct approach by her blob monsters attacking the household. Unfornately Jill kepted it a secret from her family, which is the learning curve for Bob.

Were introduced to a new character, Edna’s cousin, Dr. Sunbright, physicist for The Supers. Violet develops a romantic relationship with one of Jill’s sons. Guess her fling with Tony Rydinger didn’t last too long.

Mark Waid overuses the exclamation point at the end of every dialouge. Especially in non action scenes or the instance where Frozone and Bob are supposed to be quietly sneaking back into the house. Lastly a Metroville newsreporter is clueless when the one creature Dash engages start spliting. How can you miss something when it happened right in front of you?

The one thing about the Disney/Marvel merge that I would love to see that could be interesting is them to encounter The Fantastic Four.

    Rambo 5 in the Works

According to Variety that another film with Stallone’s second famous role is a go, again.

The upcoming project’s storyline revolves around Rambo fighting his way through human traffickers and drug lords to rescue a young girl abducted near the U.S.-Mexico border. Production will start in the spring.

So far Johnny fought the Vietnamese three times and the Soviets. At least their giving the character some fresh blood to kill. But at the same time, I wasn’t too big on the last film which was lacklustered. So making more just seems entirely pointless. Sly lost the momentum after Rocky VI.

Still looking forward to The Expendables with the other previous action stars. Crossing my fingers that PG-13 rating isn’t true.

    District 9 Review

After the Halo fiasco last year, I thought Peter Jackson was just making another movie out to make a quick buck with his director, Neil Blomkamp. But to eat crow, this was a good film.

The beginning, part of the middle, and the end is done in the style of a documentary with some news coverage that tells the story of aliens on Earth. But instead the typical contacting with messeges of peace or war, we have them confined to our planet, never to return to their own world.

Of course this causes riotting, protesting, and Wikus van de Merwe, field operator for the evil Multinational United organization getting the worst case of bad day that you can possibly imagine. Also his life sucks, married to the boss’ daughter who hates his guts aswell as his fellow employees.

Once the robot suit came into the fray by the climax, I instantly thought this would’ve been awsome japanese cartoon. Done by the BMC Funhouse crew behind Vampire Hunter D of course. Unfornately it suffers the severe case of fast editing and shaky camera that I’ve ever seen. But despite that I honestly enjoyed it.
