I expected Carol of the Bells to start playing during that montage. Medusa and the scorpions elements from the original movie have been escalated in scope. I’m really glad the writers didn’t forget about the deformed Calibos.
The harpies are an added bonus even though those creatures were in Jason and the Argonauts. Liam Neeson really does look like he stepped off Excalibur and walked into this film.
Two new posters for the remake have come out on Fused Film. The one below, and another of Emily Blunt hiding in the forest that’s been shown in the trailers many times.I wanted to point out that the glowing orange eye in the silhouette is very similar to the marketing of the 1994 film with Jack Nicholson and Michelle Pfeiffer. Wolf was more of a love story with a supernatural element on the side like Bram Stoker’s Dracula and Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein. I don’t hold that against them, though, they are still good movies I recommend.
But if we look at the difference between the two posters, Wolfman has the monster front and center, where as Wolf spotlights a romantic relationship. Given Wolfman’s advertising, I anticipate it will be a much more action-oriented. The reshoots seem to support that.
Questions answered, moments that were nice, others not so much, and a ridiculous theory that gave me severe brain trauma.
Thank Rao, Clark acted on his own and didn’t fall to the whims of the producer’s self-indulgent character and the morally-shady Oliver Queen. The best quote came at the end where the son refuses his father’s dying wish, recognizing that Zod is and always shall be treacherous. It’s good to hear because I wasn’t thrilled about that “befriending” quote in The CW’s official description for this year.
But I’m calling it right here and now, the person that killed Jor-El was none other then Dumb Blonde herself which the episode proved right after the scene Clark asks Oliver to help him find out who did it. This just proves once again she still has an agenda of her own, delusions that will make the situation worse then Mercy’s little game of sacrifice. Chloe deserves a good stranglehold by Kal-El.
Speaking of which, Ms. Graves states she released them from the orb, what? Last season’s finale clearly showed she had no idea what was going on with the device.
My old man was watching too. At the end he speculated that Clark could actually be Zod’s child as part of the debt he owed for defending Jor-El at his trial. That’s just pure crazy talk because that would be an abomination to the Superman mythos if that were true.
Rating: 5 1/2
Pleased that Lois returns cause when she’s not there it’s painful. After tonight’s disappointment, I hope this turns out well, although I don’t like the idea of DB (Dumb Blond = Chloe) babysitting them.
In the Canadian trailer, there’s an added preview scene showing the twins about to activate, but Superman intercepts by putting his hand between their fists. The shock was enough to blast them both backwards. I find the one in the country above better then the American one.

Images for 9×05 “Idol” guest starring the mediocre heroes of the Superfriends have come out.
As I mentioned in my earlier “Roulette” post, I wasn’t looking forward to this episode when it was announced. Out of all the DC characters to choose from, why these two? But after last night’s hilarious Supernatural episode, I’m a little bit more optimistic. This could turn out to be fun since they’re big Superman fans that want to help out, but make trouble in the process.
I’m glad the makeup department didn’t give them the ears and eyebrows that were made famous by Mr. Spock. Then again, those ears could be covered by their hair.
Hopefully the writers give them some depth like during the “Extreme” 90’s era when they were slaves to an alien villain. I’m afraid they might take it somewhere too goofy.
In a related note, Adult Swim pokes fun of their blandness.
Variety confirms that Sir Anthony has been cast as Odin for the Thor movie.
Anthony Hopkins has been set to star in “Thor,” the Marvel Studios production
that begins production in January.
Hopkins will play Odin, the father of
Thor and Loki. Chris Hemsworth is playing Thor, and Tom Hiddleston plays Loki.
Kenneth Branagh will direct.
Unexpected for someone who’s been on the Brian Blessed bandwagon since the rumor came out. If he can’t play the ruler of Asgard, he could definitely be Volstagg. Hopkins has to esaculate his performance as King Hrothgar from Beowulf for this film.
Branagh has assembled an all-star cast around Hemsworth. It’s very much a Superman: The Movie-esc scenario. But he’s got alot riding on him as the god of thunder. Cross fingers he delivers the goods.
Let’s put it this way. It started being Clois centric, then it’s an Oliver takeover in the second half. Again, can we please drop past relationships, this literally the third time the producers dipped. One of the reasons for Oliver’s suicide attempt was for a chance to touch back on the Oliver/Lois relationship. Let it go. It’s over. Though I like the fact Lois kept it friends at the end.
The Good Morning Metropolis stuff was humorous and enjoyable, unlike the more serious stuff last week. Cat Grant’s cameo and story arc worked well. Emilie Ullerup did a good job.
Speedy’s introduction was okay, but she should have been saved for Green Arrow’s redemption instead of the dumb blond’s deathtrap solution. Elise Gatien will be appearing in future episodes, so we’ll see how it goes. I would have preferred her as a blond, but it doesn’t ruin anything for me.
The kiss was the moment we all were waiting for. Clark made a move, no one interrupted, and it was perfect… except for the fact it was suggested by the not-so-innocent cousin, who can’t be trusted.

I’m of the theory that Zod and other Kryptonians or Kandorians, whatever you want to call them, are clones.

Director, Robert Zemeckis told MTV that he’s planning a follow up to his cartoon meets live action classic film.
“There’s a script that’s being developed,” he revealed, adding, “We’ve got the
original writers that are working on it now — Seaman and Price.”
It ended with Bob Hoskins’ character avenging his brother’s death at the hands of the mentally disturbed toon played by Christopher Lloyd. I don’t see any reprisal there, unless he’s running the police force of Toontown with some familiars.
Great aspect of the first was the crossover between the Looney Tunes and Disney characters. Best part is Daffy’s piano duate with Donald Duck.
Wonder if it’s going to continue in the 40’s period or use a different era of cartoons like the 50’s or 60’s.
I’m not entirely familiar with this character other then the fact it was Japan’s first anime. So going into it I was looking to be mildly entertained. Funny thing aside from a mother and child, nobody else was there at the showing Rob and I went to.
First and foremost this film was targeted for kids, which I have no problem with, but there was a lot of cheese, especially in the happy endings. Not to say there weren’t themes in the movie that other demographics could enjoy, like the robot graveyard beneath the city and people thrown away like trash under a flying utopia.
The score by John Ottman was done well, especially during the first flying sequence. I was impressed with the cinematography from Pepe Valencia.
The voice actors were decent, but Nicholas Cage was severely stiff in the beginning of the film. To be fair, he did get comfortable with the role of Doctor Tenma later on.
Donald Sutherland was given the short end of the stick with a one dimensional villain as President Stone of Metro City who wants the “robot boy” for the weapons division all the while being a stereotype.
I thought Charlize Theron was doubly wasted with only the introduction.
