    Tekken Teaser

The first preview for the next video game adaptation disaster has been released.

It’s the revenge plot of Legend of Chun Li with the over the top visuals of Dragonball Evolution all wrapped into one big pile of shit. Yoshimitsu looks like he jumped out of the Power Rangers‘ universe. It’s sad to see Cary Tagawa’s career has gone the way of Robin Shou.

    Kevin Smith’s Green Hornet

With the upcoming Seth Rogen’s spoof coming this year, Dynamite Entertainment teams with the New Jersey native’s original script to the comic book page.

The Green Hornet is back and Dynamite is the new home for the avenging hero and his faithful sidekick, Kato (and, the Black Beauty, ‘natch!)! And we’re kicking things off with a BANG as we launch the first of a new series of adventures starting with the great Kevin Smith. And let’s get it out of the way, right here, right NOW – the scripts are in! Every single one!

Joining Smith in bringing his unproduced screenplay to life
is artist Jonathan (Black Terror) Lau as they present the one and only
origin of the Green Hornet and Kato. This is the comic book version of Kevin smith’s unproduced Green Hornet film and Dynamite is the only place to get in on the action – it all begins here!

Aside from Alex Ross doing the cover for the first issue, John Cassaday, Jae Lee and David Finch are doing the additional ones.

The episodes I’ve seen of the original series starring Bruce Lee, they were serious crime oriented stories (with an occasional gimmick villian) that weren’t be played up for shits and giggles like that other show at the time.

    “Wonder Woman” on Smallville

Unfornately it’s not Diana Prince making her debut on the show. It’s Lois Lane in disguise at the Metropolis’ Comic Con from that upcoming horrible centric that I posted about to which stills came out for.

But you can read Rob’s synopsis for a Princess of the Amazons centric at the very bottom of his Apoklips post here.

As cool of an anvil as this is, but logically where would Lois get this costume idea from? A rodeo or back at that strip club she first went undercover back in Season 5, “Exposed” and brought up again in the sixth, “Combat”.

As far as we know in the timeline, Hippolyta’s daughter established her human identity and already starting a relationship with Steve Trevor like Lois & Clark or has been on her mission as protector/emissary to Themyscira the last time Diana’s mother addressed the U.N. on The Planet’s headline in the third year during Lex’s time in Belle Reeve in “Asylum”.

    Gossip Girl as Carol Ferris?

According to Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision, the future Star Sapphire for the upcoming movie (which was already in pre production, but until now got the greenlight) has been cast.

But unfortunately out of the choices of Jennifer Garner, Keri Russell, and even Eva Green, they decided to choose someone from The CW’s most advertised show.

“Lively will play Carol Ferris, who runs her father’s aerospace company and hires cocky test pilot Hal Jordan (Reynolds), who later becomes the intergalactic policeman Green Lantern. In the comics, the romance became complicated when an alien race bestowed her the power of a crystal called the
    Star Sapphire.

The role called for a slightly older actress but Lively, who stars in the CW’s “Gossip Girl,” impressed the studio and filmmakers with her audition.”

Yeah, I’m sure she “impressed” the execs. Renyolds is in his early 30’s and Blake is 22, the age differences are glaring obvious. Negotiations for Peter Sarsgaard to star as the main villain, Hector Hammond who’s basically an evil Stephen Hawkins with psychic powers is underway.

Mark Strong recently came up for the role of Sinestro, even though the studio still wants Jackie Earl Haley in the role.

    "Warrior" Description

Synopsis for episode 11, which is after the January return.

“METROPOLIS HOSTS A COMIC BOOK CONVENTION DC COMICS’ CHARACTER ZATANNA RETURNS

Clark (Tom Welling) meets Zatanna (guest star Serinda Swan) at a comic book convention, where she tells him her father charmed a copy of the comic book “Warrior Angel” and it holds magical powers. A young man named Stephen (guest star Carlo Marks) steals the comic book and develops super powers, transforming himself into Warrior Angel and saving Chloe (Allison Mack) from a horrible accident. Meanwhile, Lois (Erica Durance) becomes jealous of Clark’s relationship with Zatanna. Allison Mack directed the episode written by Bryan Q. Miller.”

This sounds absolutely horrible. The “saint” doesn’t derserve another guy, not after that one little sin she pulled which was… oh yeah, killing Jimmy Olsen.

As much I enjoyed the depiction of the Mistress of Magic, added by Swan’s performance last year, “Hex” was a sign of bad things to come for this season as the picture from the ending showed.

However spoilers for 16, “Escape” say Lois & Clark go to a getaway. Wiether or not they’ll reference the scenes from Superman II with them at The Fortress or the honeymoon pad with that stupid pink polar bear which revealed his secret identity is up in the air. Either way Lois catching her man making out with another DC character (no pun intended) spells trouble, hopefully like any other obstacle the writers have thrown at the iconic couple so far, they come through like always.

I honestly don’t want to watch this stinker for more brain truma after suffering “Power” and “Requiem”, but I’m obligated to inform the blind and loyal fanbase of Allison Mack’s character given the reality of the circumstances.

    Sherlock Holmes Review

From the trailers I thought that it would get lost in the action and lose the mystery and thoughtfulness the Arthur Conan Doyle creation was all about. Thankfully I was proven wrong.

Robert Downey Jr. nailed the title role. The movie does a really great job of capturing the character’s superhuman ability of deduction that’s both a blessing and a curse as the scribbles on the wall moment showed.

I definitely got a Batman vibe, but then again this was one of the first detectives of literature and an inspiration for The Dark Knight.

Despite some people implying a homosexual undertone, Jude Law and Downey were still a good comedic duo. Glad Watson was on par with Holmes as oppose to the fat useless incompetant.

The music by Hans Zimmer & Lorne Halfe was top notch, as it captured the tone of 18th Century England. Plus “Rocky Road to Dublin” by The Dubliners during the boxing scene was the best part of the film.

Even though Holmes’ arch enemy, Professor Moriarty, was in the shadows to set the film up for a sequel, the writers proved why he was an equal by giving him the same skills as Holmes. He was in disguise stealing the technology during the Parliment sequence, he was extremely intelligent and had a gimmick gun out of his sleeve.

Whoever did the voice was much better then Richard Roxburgh’s portrayal in that horrible League of Extraordinary Gentlemen adaptation.

Nothing against Rachel McAdams, but she was so out of place in the cast. There was no chemistry at all between her and Robert unlike the one with Gwyneth Paltrow in the first Iron Man. They could’ve easily gotten somebody else for that Catwoman role.

I was torn about Mark Strong as Lord Blackwood. Whether or not it was the dialogue in the script or the actor’s performance, he comes off very stiff, especially by the climax with the big villian speech.

A part of me wished the hat Downey flipped on at the very end was the classic hat the character is well known for because his frequent wardrobe being different from previous canon, it would’ve been a nice little homage.

    Rating: 9

    AJ Poster

It’s good to see Clark front and center as spoilers for the movie said that the JSA admires him and it being his team and not Oliver’s is good to read.

From a third promo that came out recently, there was a small bit where Hawkman is about to bash someones’ skull in with one of his maces, the CGI on the wings were actually very impressive, which is very rare to say about the effects on this show.

    Blackest Night #6 Review

I really thought this was the last issue until I noticed 6/8 on the cover. Not to imply I’m sad its continuing, quite the contrary, I love what’s developed in this issue and I want to see it get even bigger and more bad ass.

Geoff Johns delivers, as usual, and this late in the series I am glad I started collecting this months ago. However convenient trades are, I love the space serial we have going on here, and how every few Wednesdays I can see what happens next. To me that makes it an “event” and I enjoy that. It also gives me time to speculate.

Johns showcases his expanded color spectrum corps to their fullest in this issue with a continuation of the unlikely team-up of all seven colors. Larfleeze is probably my favorite, and my least favorite Indigo-1 (we just didn’t have the same amount of time with her like we did with the others), but that’s neither here nor there, the story is still great and reaches new cool levels when Ganthet puts on a green ring and the others deputize kindred spirits across the DCU, including Wonder Woman, Luthor, Scarecrow, Atom, Flash and Mera.

There’s the perfect amount of story being mixed with battles and I don’t feel I’m ever being cheated one for the other, especially with the ancillary books Green Lantern, Green Lantern Corp, and all the Blackest Night tie-ins covering as much expanded story and action as I care to indulge in.

If you haven’t been following Blackest Night, I doubt you’ll be able to find all the back issues at this point, but hang tight for the trade because this is a real keeper. It’s garnered all sorts of commendations from a slew of reviewers (comic and non-comic alike). I think Johns has even been entered into the list of 100 People to Watch or something, which is a pretty big deal I think. He’s single-handedly running the DCU at the moment (aided to a lesser extent by Simone, Morrison and those other folks) and someone managing not only to keep it all together, but do a great job.

Anxiously awaiting these next two months of joyous darkness, and the subsequent Brightest Day!

    Smallville "Disciple" Description

The synopsis for Smallville‘s return episode 9×10 on Jan. 22.

“NO LOVERS, NO ALLIES, NO DISCIPLES; INTRODUCING DC COMIC CHARACTER THE DARK ARCHER

Oliver’s (Justin Hartley) past comes back to haunt him in the form of The Dark Archer (guest star Steve Bacic), Oliver’s former teacher, who seeks revenge on his student by taking aim at Lois (Erica Durance) and Chloe (Allison Mack). Oliver faces down The Dark Archer after his former mentor kidnaps Mia AKA “Speedy” (guest star Elise Gatien) but is pushed to his limit and Clark (Tom Welling) races to stop him from making another deadly mistake. Mairzee Almas directed the episode written by Jordan Hawley.”

This exactly proves my point in my last post, once again Clark is thrown to the sidelines for more Oliver time, even though that character outlived his perpuce on the show. Not a great way to come back from the hiatus guys. As it follows when situations happen to Ollie, Lois gets involved for extra ciotus.

As Lionel said to Lex in “Memoria”, “You spend too much time living in the past. You’ve got to start looking to the future.”
