    "Warrior" Clois Clip

Probably the only good part that’s gonna come out of this episode.

Never expected to see Erica Durance in a Storm Trooper outfit. The explaination for the Wonder Woman getup is still a mystery.

About Clark throwing the can, the direction of his powers seems to be lacking again. Because the force of that object hitting that crook’s head would kill him, like that infamous blackhand he gave to Toyman’s lankey in “Echo”.

    Absolute Justice Review

The big event has come and gone. So, did it leave up to expectations despite this subpar season? Well, Geoff Johns succeded only in part.

The first half in actuality of this two parter, “Society” had it’s far then less interesting side characters, again takeover the screentime from Clark and Lois was a no show.

Chloe is beyond annoying in this, not only does she tells him and Oliver what to do again, but in her typical Dumb Blonde fashion, blows off the advice given to her by Doctor Fate or Martian Manhunter (awsome that he finally got his powers back even though it was out of the expense of Fate, but they left the door open for one of the succuessors. Please Rao it’s not Chloe) about her recent control freak attutide. How full of yourself can you possibly get?!

It’s a total buzz kill the PTB have been cramming their over deported winch very heavily into this DC Universe. Also, I’m getting tired of the plot device of making the heroes look bad with the whole misunderstanding, it’s making Green Arrow more of a jackass then Carter Hall laid on.

Now that I’ve gotten the things bugged the hell out of me, it’s get the postive. Out of the members of the JSA that Johns was allowed to use, Fate played by Brent Strait was the highlight peformance. The voice they came up with was very distinctive, not just another muffled one like GA’s. Not only did Nelson talk about Clark’s destiny, (which has been said some many times by now, you’d think our Man of Steel would get the friggin picture by now) officially announce that his true enemy, Lex Luthor isn’t really dead.

Which is not to say that Michael Shanks didn’t do well as Hawkman. He showed the right level of intensity as the warrior. Yeah, he pulled a Batgrabble but I didn’t have a problem with it.

The second half, “Legends” delivers the goods that said half started. At first I questioned about the Helmet of Nabu accepting a villian as it’s bearer, but it doesn’t work like Thor’s hammer, Mojir.

As I’ve said over and over again, Zod and the Kryptonian clones is a pointless storyline. I wouldn’t be suprised at the last minute, the orb sucks them all back into it so we can get onto a much better storyline.

Checkmate on the show should’ve been this season’s arc since Earth has been attacked by aliens over the course of the series. Pam Grier nailed Amanda Waller to the letter, the way she delivered the line to Ms. Graves (who’s been an agent for some unknown amount of time) said it’s been awhile, there’s an echo of CCH Pounder’s portayal from the DCAU.

Although Wesley Dodds died in the comics and in Kingdom Come, it still was a waste to have one scene and then get axed by Icicle.

    Rating: 6 1/2

    Cap’s Costume

L.A. Times talked to Johnston about what Winghead’s uniform will go through in the film.

“In the first USO sequences, the frustrated patriot will be wearing a version that is closer to the classic Jack Kirby-designed costume, but then later as the super-soldier hits the war zone he will be wearing a sturdier, more muted version that he makes himself that is more like battle togs. The stripes across his mid-section, for instance, will be straps, not colored fabric.”

As long as it doesn’t have rubber ears, I’ll be happy and with a bigger budget it’ll look better then the 90’s piece of crap.

It makes sense why the military wouldn’t drop Rogers into the battlefield right away, after Professor Joseph Reinstein’s is killed and his research is lost after the incident with the Nazis spy, he’s the only one of his kind. That is if they the portray the origin in the fashsion.

The article goes on to say that the superteam of WWII will be in the movie aswell. But The Invaders appearing seems very risky because that means you have too many heroes to upstage the main character.

    Smallville "Disciple" Review

To reiterate why this season isn’t working upon many things, Oliver Queen is too damn inconsitent. First he gets over his “darkside complex” and then the next minute he’s back to dwelling on Lois, who’s finally formed a romantic relationship with the man she’s destined to be with forever.

As the story goes, writer, Jordon Hawley tries to make you believe Ollie has a case of multiple personality disorder which of course was clearly that wasn’t the case.

Clark is finally starting to see Dumb Blonde’s true nature when she tells him about her little stunt pulled in “Roulette” and then being the annoying bitch she is, has the nerve to spit on Superman’s moral code. If this was a pre-Crime Syndiate universe, she would’ve killed by him years ago. But Boyscout makes another great comeback by basically saying “Now I’m cleaning up your mess.” The only thing left to cut the ties permently is to discover her murder from last year.

But for some stupid reason he still relys on her for information when he so obiviously can do it on his own because..he’s an investigative reporter. This was worse then “Siren” when he finally saw Drama Queen for the skank she was and then fell right back into the powers that be’s spell. To be fair though, there was no scene where he apologized to the human plot device.

At first it seemed Lois was suspcicous of Zod’s visit at Metropolis General after her attack by Merlyn or Dark Archer, whatever you want to call him. But then she’s like “Your friend, Zod showed up, the three of us should go out together.” to the mild mannered reporter. What was that? I know she doesn’t remember since her memory of the future trip was erased (making another arc entirely pointless.), but that was just ridiculous. Was Hawley trying to make Lois look clueless?

But the ending cleared up skeptism about wiether or not the producers were dumbing down Kal-El again by befriending Zod and his cronies at the end of “Pandora”, he still doesn’t trust him. The best line comes where he tells his arch enemy to stay away or he will destroy them all.

    Rating: 6

Next week, Absolute Justice arrives early as the second glorifying Chloe centric was supposed to air after this, glad it got switched.

    GL Corps Concept Art

Screenrant posted illustrations from the movie, featuring designs of the alien members of the groups. Aswell as a statement from director, Martin Campbell.

“Well, Kilowog will be… Tomar-Re is in it. Sinestro is in it. Abin Sur is in it. All the origin people. Carol [Ferris], of course, who will be played by Blake Lively. All the main characters are there, and it’s a complex story. The origin story of Green Lantern is complex, probably one of the most complex, which makes it a challenge to get it right.”

Other pics of Ganthet looks pretty cool and Sinestro were also included except with a mullet which isn’t good for the character. Aside from that the uniforms definitely alien enough without it being too weird. Still think it’s wrong that Blakely is the love interest to Renyolds.

    Merlyn Attacks DB

Clip from tomorrow night’s return episode.

The whole time I’m thinking “Yes! Kill her! Kill her now!” But unfortunately that’s never gonna happen.

    Silver Banshee on Smallville

TV Guide reports that another villian from the DCU shows up in episode 16, “Escape”.

The Banshee is a vengeful spirit of a fallen Gaelic heroine. She’s accidentally released from the underworld, and takes out her vengeance at an unassuming country bed and breakfast. Guess who just happens to be staying at the B&B? Lois (Erica Durance) and Clark (Tom Welling).

As for the scream effect, where Black Canary’s was changed in the show to subsonic, her’s will be the reverse as in hyper. Because Siobhan McDougal’s power causes the victim’s life essence to drain from their body.

Like the treat was in Absolute Justice with Chloe being strangled by Doctor Icicle, she’ll be subjected to the harlet’s wrath.

    Absolute Justice Official Description

Synopsis for the anticipated TV movie has finally popped up.

DC COMICS’ CHARACTERS HAWKMAN, STAR GIRL AND DR. FATE FROM THE JUSTICE
SOCIETY OF AMERICA MEET UP WITH CLARK AND HIS TEAM IN A SPECIAL TWO-HOUR EVENT, PAM GRIER GUEST STARS.

A man named Sylvester Pemberton tracks down Chloe (Allison Mack) and tells her he knows about her team of superheroes and needs their help. However, before he can explain who he is, he is attacked and killed by Icicle (guest star Wesley Macinnes). Clark (Tom Welling) and Chloe’s (Allison Mack) investigation leads Clark to the former headquarters of the Justice Society of America where he meets up with Nelson aka Dr. Fate (guest star Brent Stait), Carter Hall aka Hawkman (guest star Michael Shanks) and Courtney aka Star Girl (guest star Britt Irvin). Courtney pleads with Hawkman and Dr. Fate to help her catch the killer that is targeting their group but they are reluctant to resume their duties as superheroes. Clark, John Jones (guest star Phil Morris), Green Arrow (Justin Hartley) and Chloe team up to help the JSA stop Icicle before he murders another member of the group.

Meanwhile, Lois (Erica Durance) receives a package from a mysterious agency called Checkmate, run by Amanda Waller (guest star Pam Grier). Geoff Johns wrote the two-hour episode. Glen Winters directed the first hour and Tom Welling directed the second hour.

When Rob and I went to go see Daybreakers last night, I realized The CW used footage from the apocalyptic movie, Legion to advertise Absolute Justice which is the cheapest move since Failsday. It puts some of that skeptism about Hawkman’s wing effects back to the forefront as is the case with Carter Hall’s eye lenses at the end of the emo preview here:

I wouldn’t be suprised in the slightest when Dumb Blonde joins Amanda Waller’s Checkmate to manipulate the heroes, like she already accomplished with Green Arrow in the first half of this season. With confirmed notice at EW, Ma Kent will get caught in this tangled web aswell.

Knock on wood that she doesn’t get killed because of Chloe’s screwed up decision making.
