    Abin Sur’s Spaceship

Since the release of the concept art, production started in New Orleans, California for The Emerald Crusader’s feature with a few glimpses at the logo or Ryan Renyolds on set.

But this exclusive from ComicBookMovies.com of the alien craft that brings the Lantern before Hal Jordan to Sector 2814 is a big deal.

Interesting it lands in the Coast City river instead of the forests or the desert like in other incarnations.

In Geoff Johns’ retelling of the origin story, after Hal takes the ring shortly after, Ferris Airlines uptains it and Hector Hammond (who’s the self proclaim boyfriend to Carol Ferris) is exposed to the reactor core which drives him mad with psychic power.

Guess Hector has issues with Tim Robbins as the father that he kills him towards the end by making his head explode offscreen.

    Smallville "Escape" Review

Since Lois and Clark’s romance has technically been moving slowly this entire season, it doesn’t make the episode worth it.

After the beginnings of another pointless shipper, It didn’t make sense for Lois to have her luggage at The Planet before her and Clark went to their B&B. That glaringly shows the short supply of sets they have because of the budget.

It’s like I’ve been theorizing they spent a big portion of the money on Absolute Justice, because I just can’t visualize this upcoming finale entitled, “Salvation” to be all that epic.

But on a lighter note, why I’m a Clois supporter is that apart from it being the iconic relationship of Superman lore, it’s the only ship that I’ve been enjoying since they brought her into the series and kept me onboard through the thick and thin.

In repeated viewings of the bedtime scene, I noticed Tom Welling and Erica Durance were mimicing their character’s awkward arm movements which was a nice touch since their new to this ciotus.

Silver Banshee is given something worse then Roulette’s treatment. The only reason writer, Genevieve Sparling (alias Dumb Blonde Central.) had the vengeful spirit of Sioban McDougal jump from body to body was just so the PTB can tease us out of another Clois moment that’s right on par with Drama Queen breaking up the first kiss between the starcrossed lovers!
Once again another anticlimax. But the voice alteration and effects on guest star, Odessa Rae were really good. Just a minor nitpick, it makes it more creepy that she doesn’t speak like in JLU and Public Enemies.

The Mercy/Zod scenes were totally out of place. She’s delusional in thinking that Kal-El working side by side with the future tyrant will bring peace and prosperity to the world once he got his powers. Now that he has them (Which I’ve said in my “Conspiracy” review is impausible.) the Pandora future is still gonna happen since she gives into his temptation and those Kryptonite weapons are still around.

Lastly, who cares about HPD (Human Plot Device) and Oliver Queen’s spontaneous “romance”? Honestly, that’s the shortest grieving period ever. “SSSllluuut!”

What the things that really pissed me off. The horrible things she’s doing and Boyscout knows it. THEY STILL PLAY OFF LIKE SHE’S STILL A TRUSTWORTHY SIDEKICK! OMFG! Lois and Clark are supposed to be doing that crap! As for Ollie, just pair him with Dinah Lance already and write him off ASAP. Quick stalling the inevitable.
    Rating: 4

Next week is the Checkmate centric.

Like Drama Queen was the central plot for years on the show, Dumb Blonde has taken her place because she’s “The Watchtower”.

In a recent clip, Waller hammers Ms. Graves’ for her incompetence after The Emerald Archer gets out of their custody. Mercy’s character is all over the place because after the revelation in the JSA two parter, it appears she’s in over her head. I don’t see the logic there.

I thought it was pretty funny when Clark was trying to hint around that he could control his ejaculation so it wouldn't blow off anyone's head.Overall, I didn't mind the episode, but it just came off as a bit corny with the Silver Banshee character.I just wish they'd make up their mind about Clark's weakness to magic. He's been shown to be very vulnerable to magic, but the Silver Banshee attack just didn't come off near as bad on him as I thought.Either way.. still an "okay" episode. I know they're on a stricter budget, but I also read at Kryptonsite that they've been saving up their money for bigger cgi at the end of the season.I think the only GOOD part about a 10th season is that now they know they have 22-24 episodes to wrap everything up.

Here's the thing, Silver Banshee is a villain in Clark's rogues gallery and she was snubbed.Much like when the producers made Toyman into a Green Arrow adversary.

    Blackest Night Retrospective

Now that DC’s big event closed, here are my thoughts are the mini-series as a whole. After The Sinestro Corps War, Ivan Reis became one my favorite artists which still stood out. Geoff Johns was on a roll up until the last issue that was severely rushed.

By the way, Rob did that write up for eight not me. Since Larfleeze is his favorite, I’ll acknowledge that he did have his moments like when Artocitus of Five Inversions “saves” his greedy life to claim the battery for himself.

Sinestro had his moments too, with his power struggle with Mongul for leadership of the Yellow Lantern Corps and briefly as a White Lantern battling Nekron. Passing from one undead person to the other when one form is destroyed was a good presentation of that what is eternal not dieing.

Lex Luthor, who became an Orange Lantern after every other power ring recruits almost every character in the DCU to face the crisis, mingling with Black Lantern Superman while playing tug of war with Larfleeze over said battery, and their back forth retort was pretty funny.

Guy Gardner overcoming with rage after Kyle Rayner is killed and going on killing spree was awsome. Even though it was cheapened with him coming back through a binding link from one of the Star Sapphires.

The Red Lantern is my favorite Green Lantern villain, but my only gripe is (similar to my qualms about The Joker’s origin in The Killing Joke) I find it extremely hard to believe that he was once a good person in The Blue Corps, considering his character design is so pacific.

If Hal was the supposed to be the main character of the story, then why didn’t his parents rise like The Graysons, Earth 2 Superman, and Lois Lane?

With acceptions of Wonder Woman & Batman, the tie-ins were a complete waste of time and money as the climax showed. As Rob & I called it, everyone that died, came back with only few exceptions. Glad to see Shiera back in the role of Hawkgirl, despite not having read much Hawkman or JSA titles with Kendra. What I do know is she wanted to break the Destined Lovers cycle but in fact did have feelings Carter Hall.

Osiris’ one shot was nice closure to the events in 52, aside from Rene Montoya becoming The Question, and Black Adam, they were good arcs of that mini series.

The oppostions of that writer, J.T. Krul brought to Green Arrow demanding his allies to kill him (especially since he killed Promethesis in Cry for Justice) and Firestorm’s wanting to break free was interesting.

Overall, Johns had all the right key things to happen in the series, but as I said at the beginning, the conclusion was a clusterf**k.

Being a casual comic reader, I’m just gonna stick to reading past works. I’ll pass Brightest Day, accept for the Deadman tie in because that was most interesting thing to come out of this disapointment, since Boston Brand has been a ghost his entire career.

    Boyscout meets The Wall

Stills for episode 17, “Checkmate” have been released. Majority of them being the confrontation scene between The Man of Steel and Waller.

Tom’s hair looks shorter then it normally looks. On the postive side, the photos are Clark centric, however I think this won’t have much screentime with all the other crap going on.

That quick shot from the reccent trailer of Waller smacking the red chess piece off the table implies that she gets outsmarted by likely the human plot device (Chloe) because their even making the other heroes like Martian Manhunter and Zatanna worshipping the dirt that’s been layed out this season.

    Batman / Superman Beyond Releases

According to Comic Alliance, DC Senior Story Editor, Ian Sattler mentioned at the Emerald City convention in Seattle Batman of the Future title’s arrival, plus another one featuring The Man of Steel.

“Not only do you get the “Batman Beyond” #1 in June, but you get the ‘Superman/Batman’ [annual] with those characters… And not just ‘Batman Beyond’, but also ‘Superman Beyond.”

Interesting, considering in the two part epsiode, “The Call” we see that Metropolis is bright futuristic world then Gotham being more darker then it is in the present.

    Weaving for Red Skull?

With Christoph Waltz’s Oscar win, you’d think Marvel would appoarch him to play Cap’s arch nemesis.

However THR’s Heat Vision says Hugo (the magnificant character actor) is first in line for the Nazi’s ubermench.

“The dealmaking with Weaving is in a delicate stage that will play out in the next day or so. Agencies grouse that Marvel plays hardball in the negotiating process and also demands multi-movie commitments, though the latter usually applies to actors playing its heroes.”

An aspect of Johann Schmidt I dug from the 60’s cartoon was that because he was trained by Hitler, his power grew to the point that even the feid himself feared him.

    First Look at Silver Banshee

Stills from Kryptonsite shows the next DC villain in Lois & Clark’s bed and breakfast episode, “Escape”.

I mean, damn. Aside from being accurate, the expression on actress, Odessa Rae’s face with the contacts, makeup and teeth is genuinely frightening. With lighting, plus with special effects it’ll looks scary as hell. Reminds me of the quick flashes of the demonic face from The Exorcist. Don’t mind the semblance of Siobhan McDougal’s hair still being there after all, she is possessed.
