Second Thor Trailer

Unlike Cap’s Superbowl TV spot, Goldilocks’ did nothing for me. But this totally makes up for that.

Hemsworth displays the right amount of arrogance before learning some humility. Tom Hiddleston (Loki) and Anthony Hopkins seem to portray their respective characters. However, Stellan Skarsgard’s (father to Alexander of True Blood who was in the running to play Odinson) Professor Hawkins, Sif (Jaime Alexander), and The Warriors Three (Ray Stevenson, Josh Dallas, and Tadanobu Asano) haven’t said a single word yet in these previews, hopefully in the final one.

While the taser bit was humorous, I’m growing a little skeptical about Kat Dennings as Jane Foster’s “gnome helper” (described by the actress), Darcy (a made up character for the movie). This could turn into another Chloe Sullvian / Max Gibson (Batman Beyond) scenario all over again. Because outside of Marvel Studios‘ films, females in comic book movies haven’t been all that great (Katie Holmes / Maggie Gyllenhaal’s Rachel Dawnes not withstanding).

But so far, they’ve been on a roll with Gwyneth Paltrow’s Pepper Potts (despite Iron Man 2 being disappointing and Scarlett Johansson’s Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow being miscast), and Liv Tyler’s Betty Ross (unlike Jennifer Connelly was way too vulnerable and didn’t stand up to her five star father).
