    Davis / Doomsday Trailer

While we still wait for Smallville to come back in January, The CW has released a new trailer focusing on The Ultimate Destroyer.

Funny, the lines that Sam Witwer gives is so Jeff Goldblum’s speech in The Fly, with the “Help Me.” bit at the end. Least it wasn’t in a squeaky voice.

The last shot of him incased in ice, either means Brainiac keeps him there for future use or Jor-El saves the day by imprisoning him like when Clark disobeyed his father in “Gemini”.

    Trek Trailer in IMAX

According to Cinematical, the latest Star Trek trailer will also be shown on the 100 feet screen.

“We got our print-info sheet for Day the Earth Stood Still in IMAX and attached is a trailer for Star Trek. So it appears that JJ Abrams Trek Reboot/Remake is coming to IMAX in May.”

The article goes on to say that even though it’s playing, it’s wasn’t shot for it. Now, there’s some skeptism about the picture quality. Why? As far as I know, there were no issues with the format as I recall.

The bottom line is if this movie is released on the large screen, I’m going opening day, regardless of this tiny technicality.

    Singer for MOS? Part 3

UGO interviewed Singer, again asking the question on The Man of Steel’s status.

JH: But there is talk of a new film, though. Are you officially
involved in this talk of the new film?

BS: I am not officially involved in the talk, no.

JH: But when talk happens they’ll call you.

BS: Well it’s, you know, I have relationships with Warner
Brothers and with the character and, and, and, and it’s just the way things work
    out.

JH: But you are not divorced from Superman at this point.

    BS: No.

    JH: All right.

When first asked, once again he laughs it off. Now, I’m not going to jump to conclusions like Justice League, but for God’s sake, how long are you going to tease us after your shameless plug of a movie?

If the “not being in talks” is true, I wouldn’t be shocked. As for a replacement, that’s up in the air for me. On the revamp bandwagon, with GL for 2010 and MOS for 2011, WB is starting again from scratch.

    Ghostbusters Trailer

Graphics are okay, sweet they got the original cast to voice their reprisal roles. As the story goes, it looks like it picks up after the events of the first film (no reference to the sequel where slime makes you happy and gay) with a quick cameo of Mr. Pecker.

DK and IM Nominated for Grammies

Announced by The Grammy Awards , the two big superhero films of this year are on the roster for Best Soundtrack.

While the fanboy in me says “Break A Leg”. At the same time, like Transformers, they’ll be snubbed again. I don’t think Ledger’s Oscar nod is going to help either.

As for the others on the list, There Will Be Blood is probably gonna win because of Daniel Day Lewis’ Best Actor win. Indy 4 (no way) was the weakest score in John Williams’ career.

    Don’t Kill Me Nick, But…

But it looks like everything reported on George Miller is indeed false.

In fact, his representative said that all the wonderful things that were written (like he being off Justice League, the movie being recast, and him giving up on Mad Max) were all the exact opposite of the truth. That means not only is he still on board, so are all the shit actors, and he’s going to rape Mad Max like Lucas and Spielberg did Indy. Well, at least Beyonce isn’t Wonder Woman.

    Wolverine Shots

Oh boy. We all knew it was coming, but here are the latest screens from the upcoming X-Men Origins: Wolverine or whatever the title is. Fox has a way of encumbering their movie headings. But that is the least of my worries. Granted, the first shot in the tank looks pretty cool and entirely reminiscent of the flashback scenes of the previous X-Men films (which from a continuity angle I appreciate).

But that is the least of my worries. Granted, the first shot in the tank looks pretty cool and entirely reminiscent of the flashback scenes of the previous X-Men films (which from a continuity angle I appreciate). The second with Wolverine and Sabertooth storming Normandy Beach also is rather cool, though I guess they’ve entirely given up on the Canadian aspect and kept Wolvie in the realm of the US Military. After all, the project known as Weapon X and Willian Stryker were both established as American in X2. Even the third shot, with both healing factor mutants before a firing squad looks good (and funny as hell I might add, they better throw some laughs in that scene).

However, shot number four, Wolverine vs. Liv Shrieber, I mean Sabertooth, looks kind of terrible. I don’t see an ounce of Sabertooth there. I hope they didn’t think the slightly blond facial hair they glued on was going to be reminiscent enough… Perhaps this is all before the Weapon X enhancements, but even still… Sabertooth… really… I’m just not seeing it. I hope he plays it mean, at least.

As far as the fifth shot goes, my favorite of the bunch, Jackman looks jacked, the claws look good, the expression and cinematic angle all look good. This shot embodies my hope for the movie. I just hope it isn’t getting my hopes up for nothing. I mean, after all they have Deadpool in this movie without the red mask or the scarring, played by a guy who got plastic surgery on his abs to make them a better six pack… *sigh*

    Happy Miller Off JLA…For Real

As Rob said The League’s feature is still a go. The initial instinct was “No friggin way”, but Dark Horizons confirms Miller is officially booted.

“According to scooper ‘Steve’ he says that Miller indicated that if the project does get going again, he expects that it’ll be recast as “the studios seem to want bigger stars in their superhero movies now.”

Rejoice. Everyone on the planet was against this from the beginning. On the brightside, at least Warners is starting to follow a Marvel direction, but the issue on wanting their films dark, still stands. As you and I know the heroes of the DCU are different from each other. Still, this project is years ahead of us, the solo films to be more relevant.
