Hal Jordan & The Telenicolor Spectrum

With the legendary Green Lantern going through this trial, by the end of Blackest Night he’ll become a White Lantern. Which makes sense for his character to end up after his life experiences.

My thoughts on #42. The shock value of losing his hand by Larfleeze in the last comic to find out it was just a mirage in this, took the momenteum out real quick.

After a brutal fight, Agent Orange unleashes the full wrath of his greed on him and his corps. Hal answers the blue ring’s question to hope for everything to be fine and during a long postponed moment, finally uses it against his enemy. But then the ring leaves to go find a replacement.

In the end, The Guardians allow Gonzo go to the Blue Lantern’s home planet for the energy he graves where Ganthet, Sayd, and the other Saints look up in susprise.

The color and inking is inconsistant. It’s like at the last minute, Nei Ruffino and Rod Reis decided to paint ontop of the black ink.

    Metallo in Season 9

The finale was a clusterf##k to put it in one word. Now with an upcoming 9th and possible 10th year on The CW, TVGuide reports that another villain from the Superman universe will appear.

Brian Austin Green has been cast on Smallville as the DC Comics villain Metallo, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively.

Green will appear as the kryptonite-powered villain (alter ego “Daily
Planet” journo John Corben) in at least the first two episodes of Season 9, which takes flight Friday, Sept. 25.

I see where this journo thing is going. Since these producers love pointless melodrama, Erica Durance’s Lois Lane will fall for Clark’s enemy and become like any other annoying chick that’s come into his life. So by the end of the series, we’ll have nobody left to gravitate to, that it will just rot and die in it’s new airdate.

I don’t have much enthusiasm left. Supernatural was the better show this past year with it’s Heaven and Hell story arc. Look forward to it’s final season, as Rob told me he heard from a die hard.

The Return of Cap. What’s The Point?

After Steve Rogers’ demise, fans accused Marvel of ploying to sell more comics. Ain’t that the truth.

The death and ressurrection storytelling is overdone. I was glad that Bucky donned the mantle, bringing back his fellow comrade reaks of what the outcome will unfornately be like for Dick Grayson, that everything goes back to normal whose Bruce Wayne jumps back onto the saddle of Batman.

In 600 of The Star Spangled Avenger, which came out earlier then expected, they’ve brought in Rebecca from Heroes Reborn into the mainstream universe. Yes, I was one of those suckers that read that junk too. Being optimistic though, it could mean forward progression for Barnes’ character to have someone under his wing like he was back in World War II. That is if two things happen.

    A. James is still The Sentinel of Liberty afterwards.

Or B. Takes on another superhero identity.

Cause he’s definitely not going back to being a tool for The Russians again. In all fairness, the first issue of Reborn hasn’t even come out yet. So for now I’m leaning towards B at this point.

    First Look at Lo

A behind the scenes photo posted on her official website. Gemma Arterton playing the goddess who’s gives Perseus the winged horse, Pegasus.

She reminds me of Angelina Jolie from Alexander. While I’m still looking forward to this remake, I’d like to bring up one problem. To have a made up character for the sole perpose to hand the heir of Argos his means of travel for the quest takes away one of the strengths what he did on his own in the original film. Hope he’s not too overly moody ala Man of Steel in Superman Returns.

After rewatching Incredibile Hulk last week on Cinemax, I’m confidented Letterier will give us the big spectacle and the human story aswell. I agree with Rob, Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes really do look like brothers.

    Red Robin #1

With Dick Grayson officially donning the cape and cowl of his mentor once again and smart mouth, Damian being the new sidekick, I called it was gonna to be Tim Drake.

Glad they did in fact rescue him after the near fatal battle with Jason Todd, he rightfully finds Talia’s spoiled son to be completely unworthy for the role of Boy Wonder. So much that he punches the kid right in the face and storms out of The Batcave. Being the only one believing Bruce to still be alive, storms through the streets and rooftops of Paris, France as the Kingdom Come character.

All the while, Ra’s Al Ghul keeps an eye on him. Good start, my only fear is they repeat themselves with Tim manipulated by The Demon’s Head again, which would make Wayne Drake stupid to fall for the same trick, back when his previous father, Jack died in Identity Crisis.

    Sommers gets The Boot

Latino Review got the word that due editing issues, the director of G.I. Joe has been kicked off the project.

After a test screening where the film tested the lowest score ever from an audience in the history of Paramount, the executive who pushed for the movie Brad Weston had Stephen Sommers, the super hack director of the film fired. Removed. Locked out of the editing room. Stuart Baird, a renowned “fixer” editor was brought in to try to see if it could be made releasable.

Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner, who turned down other offers from the property to go with the script that was rushed in 8 weeks by Stuart Beattie because of the writer’s strike is frantic that this will destroy the brand and is distancing himself from the pending catastophe.

With bad news of that magnitude this movie is going to suck for sure. It’s the Lexi Alexander Punisher situation all over again. The only thing that’s salvageable out of this mess is for shit blowing up and Snake Eyes with Storm Shadow fighting each other. When the director gets removed after filming, that’s another red flag for us the moviegoers.

    First Look at Whiplash

Paramount released a glimpse at Mickey Rourke’s role in Iron Man 2. Technically he’s playing Blacklash, but they renamed him after the female counterpart which is kind of weird. I still would’ve preferred Crimson Dynamio, but it would’ve been Iron Monger all over again.

By his pants, he escapes prison, somehow lands in the middle of car racing event held by Tony Stark, and demonstrates his high tech weaponry by splitting a vehicle, heading for a collision course with him in half. Not surprisingly, Justin Hammer orchestrated Ivan’s get away in the first place.

    Batman / Superman Trailer

After First Flight comes an adaptation of the Public Enemies story arc.

This was my favorite out of Jeph Loeb’s run. The animation looks like a good mix between Bruce Timm and Ed McGuinness’ art styles.

Unlike the drastic changes in Superman: Doomsday, the Kingdom Come Superman will probably be the only aspect from the graphic novel that will be removed for the film’s runtime. At this point everything else is pretty accurate.

    Dunst Back Again?!

According to the New York Post, Kristen is reprising her role as the cheap substitute for Mary Jane Watson.

Kirsten Dunst is definitely on board. Last month, director Sam Raimi was quoted as saying he didn’t know if the actor was going to sign up to play Mary Jane again, but it appears that she has.

God helps us all. Do we have to go through another trilogy of films where she’s constantly pissing and moaning about not getting enough attention? After the last film, why should we give a shit what happens to her or the relationship with Peter Parker? She’s doing it for the money. That’s the only reason.

Please, drop this character and move on. Bring cutie Bryce Dallas Howard back as Gwen Stacy as the true love of his life then this bimbo. Or even better smokin’ hot, Elizabeth Banks as Betty Brant.

Superman: World of New Krypton #4

Fortunately, this issue isn’t what the preview or cover displays it as.

Tyr shows Hal Jordon and the Green Lantern Corps around. He mentions while above orbit, that Brainiac’s technology was reason for the planet’s creation in the first place. A Phantom Zone escapee named Val-Ty causes trouble by blowing up construction work of battleships that was commissioned by General Zod and Alura, which is obviously suspicious. During the struggle, Kal-El’s second in command of the unit called Red Shards, Nar is given the order by Zod to eliminate the threat immediately. She goes against it, siding with Kal’s code of ethics by neutralizing Val with their Red Solar riffle and kept a prisoner.

Hal minds it since the menace is also wanted in custody on Oa aswell. John Stewart reminds him that there here on a Fact Finding mission only after Zod insults him by saying they don’t have authority. As The Lanterns leave, Hal resents Clark for knowing his father’s arch enemy is up to no good and despite his involvement to set it straight, it’s not prevailing.

In the end, Nar and him are put under arrest for treason against their superior. After the previous comic, my interest in this started to dwindle. But this kept me on board and I look forward to see what happens next.
