The Death of Nite Owl I

In our review of Watchmen, I said that a scene from the graphic novel that should’ve stayed in the final cut was Mason’s demise, who appeared in the first 5 minutes of the film and then disappeared.

Trailer Addict has released a deleted scene to coincided with the DVD’s release on June 21st.

This scene is done well. Even in retirement he can still kick some ass before he goes. Kinda like Bruce Wayne from Batman Beyond, where despite his age has that bit of the edge left in him.

    Red Robin #2

Tim “Wayne” Drake escapes the assassination attempt by Ra’s Al Ghul’s henchman. Before that time, his friends and family are trying to reach him. After the fight, Tim finds out Ra’s was involved.

Stephanie Brown/Spoiler shows up in his base of operations in a warehouse. Believing to be sent by Dick Grayson to talk him out of his mission, Tim refuses to speak to her and in the end decides to accept The Demon Head’s offer to find Bruce, who he believes is not really dead.

Within the Bat-Community, you’d think they would be aware that nobody ever stays in their grave. Hal Jordon, and Barry Allen, anyone?

Despite that, this issue had some decent humor in places with his monologue about throwing his disks and coming up with a distinctive voice. But with this kind of cliffhanger, hope Tim is just going along with it to find out what the eco-terrorist is up to.

    Green Lantern #43

The Origin of William Hand aka The Black Hand. Wasn’t Bruce Wayne, as issue 0 of Blackest Night implied. Despite the oppositions between the character’s backgrounds.

Even from an early age, he displays his madness, making his family dog a part of stuffed animal collection, like Norman Bates.

Obssessed with the Green Lantern’s own costume after an encounter with Artocitus, Hal Jordon and good guy Sinestro, he makes his own his uniform out of a body bag. Which is more plausible to me then Batman Returns, where Michelle Pfeiffer made a costume entirely out of a black leather jacket.

Throughout his life, the alien species behind The Black Lantern where telling him to do bad things. He also has a recollection of the heroes and villians deaths and rebirths in the DCU.

The story concludes with Will blowing his family away with the Diving Rod and kills himself to prove his worthiness as the herald for the power of death.

Next is The Resurrection of Martian Manhunter. Good prologue to the mini series, my only gripe is during the flashback to Superman’s demise, Lois Lane’s hair is red. Makes it look like Lana Lang was the only cradling him after the epic Doomsday battle in Metropolis.

    Arkham Asylum: Behind The Scenes

MTV gives an in-depth look at the upcoming Batman game. I played a demo at Best Buy last month. It was easy to navigate on the joint sticks and the camera angles moving during fights is a nice feature. With the added bonus of Paul Dini, sounds like it’ll be worth the wait when August 25th rolls around.

    Biel in Thor?

Rumor has it on Nuke The Fridge, Jessica is up for the role of “love interest” in the God of Thunder’s first feature.

Reportedly if cast, Biel will play the love interest of “Thor.” The most
probable love interest for “Thor” would more than likely be “Jane Foster,” a
nurse and girlfriend of “Thor” alter ego Donald Blake. But the problem is that
our source was not sure of the character’s name, but seemed to believe it was
the same female character from the animated “Hulk vs Thor.”

Despite appearing in subpar movies like Blade: Trinity, she’s a deccent enough actress. As the character she might play, speculation is either Sif or The Enchantress. I’m leaning towards the warrior as said movie showed.

Even though Paltrow’s Pepper Potts was a breath of fresh air of the portrayal of the normal girl, it’s time for the women that are in the same league as the hero, be on screen.

    Fury’s Action Minimal

Samuel talked to Splash Page about wiether or not were going to see the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. kick some ass in Iron Man 2.

“Not this time, not yet,” Jackson told MTV News of the likelihood we’ll see his character become the action hero fans know in “Iron Man 2.” “We still haven’t moved Nick Fury into the bad-ass zone. He’s still just kind of a talker.”

Asked whether fans will have to wait until the superhero team-up in
“The Avengers” to see Fury get ready to rumble, Jackson simply said, “Looking
    forward to that, yeah.”

Keep in mind, this still Shellhead’s movie. Also Jackson is contracted to appear in future Marvel Studio films. I believe that we’ll see a glimpse of his badassness during World War II in Cap’s flick before Avengers rolls around after that.

    Avatar Trailer

A preview for M. Night’s live action vision of the Nickelodeon cartoon came out alongside Transformers 2, which will be reviewing on the show later today.

After the reception to his trail of failures, why should this adaptation be good on any level? Sure, ILM is doing the effects, but that doesn’t matter. Like Dragonball: Evolution, the lead is being played by an American and Indians are the other opposing asian characters. It doesn’t make sense. Wonder what role Shyamalan will put himself into this time. The old master that united the nations?

    Michael Jackson Passed Away

After Charles’ Angel, Farrah Fawcett’s death from her long year battle with cancer, MSNBC confirms The King of Pop has transcended to the big light in the sky aswell.

The 50 year old musical superstar died Thursday, just as he was preparing for what would be a series of 50 concerts starting July 13 at London’s famed 02 famed arena. Jackson had been spending hours and hours toiling with a team of dancers for a performance he and his fans hoped would restore his tarnished legacy to it’s proper place in pop.

I heard it was a heart attack that caused his demise. The dude was messed up to begin with the plastic surgery, the near drop of the baby from the balcony to the paparazzi, child malnutrition charges, and so on.
But to fair if he wasn’t around he would’ve produced songs that could be used later like the Lifewater Lizards.

    R.I.P. Mr. Jackson.

    New Corps Member?

Across the board, we all know the title character for the live action film was going to be Hal Jordon. But now the screenwriter, Marc Guggenheim told MTV’s Splash Page that there introducing a made up character.

Beyond the lead actor, however a “Green Lantern” movie offers a unique chance at
casting a wide range of roles. A massive, universe -spanning police force full
of characters, in fact. While Guggenheim wouldn’t comment on whether we’ll see
fan-favorite Green Lanterns like Kilowog or (my personal favorite) Ch’p, he did
reveal that one new Green Lantern would be created specifically for the film.

As long as Hal is the lead from start to finish, I’ll be happy. But if this person starts hoggin’ the spotlight, it’s another Marcus Wright incident.
