    Season 9 Premiere Trailer

The CW released a new preview.

Chloe has NO RIGHT to lecture or command anything or anyone, not after the stupid things she did. Which the producers of course aren’t gonna hold her accountable for. She should be crying ON HER KNEES, begging Kal-El for forgiveness.

Completely by Clark when he said “F##k Humanity” because almost everyone has screwed him over and it really killed me to see Bart of all the JLA members to side with Oliver over his closet friend. But I’m glad Lois will be the one to bring him back from the brink. Other then that, I still remain very skeptical about the Zod/Mercy “connection”.

I hear that the "S" on his chest actually masks his identity. I wonder if this means we'll actually see Clark out in public in the suit.

    Wolfman Teaser

Finally, the first preview for this remake has come out.

Glad it’s still in the vain of the Comic Con footage from last year. Less graphic but shows Geraldine Chaplin as the gyspy woman, Maleva and Lawrence Talbot’s first transformation. However, the second one in the chair is way too cartoony for my taste. But the saving grace is the horrorifc imageries of man becoming beast as the priest’s narration described. Plus the howling ontop of the gargoyle is a nice touch.

Some of the skeptical reshoot reports from last month say that another werewolf would be thrown into the mix, which is confirmed because it’s said the brother was torn apart, which Rob suspects Sir John to be the culprit. Which means the father isn’t the one to kill his son like in the original, but either the love interest, Emily Blunt or Hugo Weaving deliver the final blow instead.

G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra Review

Late I know, been taking the heat of the kitchen. But out of the fire, here’s my write up of Stephen “Sucking” Sommers’ adaptation.

Going into it with little to no expectation, the Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow scenes were the best part of the movie. Byung-hun Lee and Ray Park portray their characters well. Brandon Soo Hoo and Leo Howard as their childhood counterparts beating the snot out of each other in the flashbacks was a nice treat. Unlike most people, I thought Rachel Nichols played a decent Scarlett, particularly the moments where she disses Marlon Wayans.

The ending with Arnold Vosloo’s Zartan in The White House as the ultimate goal for Cobra was brillant, despite seeing that coming during the operation scene. The biggest problem the writers got wrong was the depiction of The Baroness as a damsel in distress from Dukes’ love life.

While Joseph Gordon-Levitt comes up with a distinctive delivery for Cobra Commander, the producers snubbed him by making him into a Darth Vader ripoff which is on the same level as Barakapool from Wolverine.

Channing Tatum in the lead brings nothing to it and Wayans as Ripcorde, while not being annoying like his other brothers that produce the most stupid comedies in Hollywood history, is still a distraction, especially with his fling with Scarlett was completely unnecessary. Who also manages to steal the climax, stopping the villains’ nanobot scheme. Would’ve prefered they stuck with her relationship with Snake Eyes from the source material. Dennis Quaid with no acting effort walks through the show as General Hawk which is a dame shame.

Despite the impressive CG of the character’s famous look, Christopher Eccleston’s crucial role as McCullen/Destro lays on the accent way too much in the film. One little nitpick, Snake Eyes should’ve been Asian, not American, it’s not like we saw him out of costume as an adult. While I’m glad the laser guns were included but the hover ships were too flamboyant. Entertaining yes, but not that good.

    Rating: 5

    Clue on "Society"

Like I’ve said before, enjoyed The Legion episode, despite Clark taking the words of wisdom from the not so pure of heart, Drama Queen. Moving on, Geoff gives a small tibit to Graig of Kryptonsite about the JSA on Smallville.

“The Justice Society will be heroes that come out of ‘retirement’ to see how the current generation operates. Can’t say much more than that right now. Sorry!”

I definitely dig the interpretation of the group existing before the JLA as opposed to another alternate universe. But concerns the fans have in the case of the show is where have they been and why nobody ever heard of them before? I’m pretty confident Johns will explain all that in the story.

As characters go, it’s very likely that Jay Garrick and maybe Dinah’s mother, the first Black Canary, Drake Lance. My favorite being Wildcat would be sweet, considering Roulette shows up in 9×6.

    First Look at Metallo

TV Guide released a glimpse of Brian Austin Green as Corben in his robotic form. Along with a tease by producer, Kelly Souders about the character possibly returning in the future of this season.

“Well of course—it’s Smallville,” she says with a laugh. “We’re actually
throwing some ideas around right now in the hopes that we might be able to bring
    him back for another episode.”

Taking matters lightly are we Kelly? Despite the fact, the majority of your audience were extremely disapointed how the Doomsday arc ended.

The Kryptonite heart very Iron Man-eque. Aside from seeing wrinkles in the prosthetics, the mechanical arm is a nice touch. But I’m still weary about the execution of this thing and if John comes back they’ll screw it up like with previously said villain.

    Fassbender on Burke

Radio Free interviewed Michael about his role as second villain to Malkovich in Jonah Hex.

What can we expect from your character, and how did you go about creating him?

I had this idea about the character…He’s kind of psychotic–he gets
his kicks in kind of perverted ways. But I didn’t want to make it very obvious, like you’d seen it before. But I didn’t know where to go with it. And then we were doing wardrobe, and [costume designer] Michael Wilkinson, who I worked with before on 300, was doing the wardrobe, and he’s fantastic. And he had this three-piece suit pulled out for me, which actually was very green, and I’m playing this Irish guy, and I said, “Look, man, you’ve got to take the green down. I can’t go back home to Ireland–they’ll kill me.” [laughs] So it was this sort of green, faded-down three-piece suit. And then I was going through hats, and I picked up a bowler hat. And I put on the bowler hat, and I was looking in the mirror, and I just thought, “Oh, this is like Clockwork Orange.” So I thought I was going to go along that vein physically, and sort of take it from like “Clockwork Orange meets Frank Gorshin’s [1960s] Riddler, with a Carrey accent.” And then the guys at prosthetics and [makeup effects artist Christien
Tinsley created] this sort of tattoo thing, which sort of goes all the way down to the torso and on my arms. So really, the people around you that are doing all these things kind of do the work for you as well, if you’re just opened to it. So it became a really fun character, actually.

Clockwork was the approach Heath Ledger took with The Joker, the mentioning of Gorshin and Carrey’s bland portrayal of my favorite Batman villain is cringeworthy. My expectations dropped a little, the over the top performance never works.

Are you nuts? Calling Gorshin's portrayal bland is sacrilegious and false. He was animated, devious and completely crazy. Mix that with Clockwork and I think something really interesting will happen. And for the record Carrey didn't do a bad job with the Riddler, the script and direction are the ones to blame.

Carrey dosen't mean Jim Carrey. He's saying that the character has a Kerry accent. Kerry is a the place in Irland where Fassbender grew up. The character Burke is supposed to be irish.

    IM2 Footage

Someone at the panel successfully managed to record the preview.

Hard to make out some of the dialouge or the punchline at the end of the senate hearing scene.

Some Fury goodness, glimpse of Black Widow, and Mickey “Bad Ass” Rourke as pre-Whiplash, so sweet. After seeing it in action, I’m sold now on this villain. Not to mention of course, War Machine in the last shot in all his armored clad glory.

Definitely looks great. You can already tell how much more intense this film is going to be from the last. That scene with iron man flying is so in your face, it's awesome.

Whiplash looks sick, but Justin Hammer has me the most excited for this movie. Sam Rockwell can bring a certain bravado just like Robert Downey Jr. that I know will make face-offs just amazing.

    Green Lantern #44

This issue picks up where the first comic to the big event left off, with the arrival of Black Lantern Corps member, Martian Manhunter.

Before that happens, Barry Allen gets infected with the same residue The Guardian pukes out to covert his past fellows on Oa to his cause of wiping out the existence of emotions which is the cause of all the war, violence, and destruction in the universe. Valid point, but of course the irony that Geoff Johns gets across is the problem only gets more escalated.

The symptoms are quickly taking control of Flash with the right side of his face changing and mistakenly attacking Hal Jordon as he believes to be fighting J’onn J’onzz, trying to get through to him. Believing there’s still good left in this montrous persona. But for how long can Barry hold onto that strand of hope is the real question. J’onn gains the upper hand, flings Hal up in the air and pushes Barry into the filth of Gotham’s sewer water.

Meanwhile in Sector 1313, John Stewart finally stops moping on his little piece of rock to face a new threat that’s headed straight for him. Planet Xanshi becomes an agent of Death. Decent read after the cliffhanger that happened in said mini series which we’ll talk about on the show, aswell as review the First Flight animated movie that came out this recently.
