    Superman Statue Update

I gave my quick thoughts in a recent Vlog about the leaked photos on set for the Justice League prequel which it’s becoming more of then a Man of Steel followup (sequel not till five years apparently…ugh) nor DC’s two biggest characters’ first encounter even less with the inclusion of Ray Fisher as Victor Stone aka Cyborg (52 plugging) and now Arthur Curry/Aquaman to be played by ex-Game of Thrones actor, Jason Momoa.

Despite all that, Batman-News seems to give context to the stills mentioned above.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice takes place about two years after the events of Man of Steel. Gotham and Metropolis news trucks and helicopters were on the scene to cover the Mayor’s speech and the statue unveiling. Elementary school kids wore “Superman Survivors” shirts and helped pull a sheet off the statue for the big reveal. They also released real doves to celebrate statue unveiling.

At least it put to rest that memorial theory I myself freted over. It’d be cool addition to have Berkowitz be the one hosting since he appeared in a couple of issues from John Byrne’s run. Goyer (before he spat at both companies’ fanbases) had the courtesy to include Emil Hamilton (Richard Schiff) even though he got killed off when Colonel Hardy (Christopher Meloni) crashed his C-17 into the Black Zero spacecraft while Kal-El’s ship activated the Phantom Drive.

Gotham’s media are gonna be naysayers as an allegory to haters of the Big Blue Boyscout. Adding peace-loving birds just inserts more fuel-to-their-fire. Collateral damage you can hold the Metropolis Marvel accountable for are Smallville’s destruction along with the Kryptonian scout ship steering into The City of Tomorrow. Might aswell throw in Billy Batson/Captain Marvel/Old Wizard’s name into the young crowd since his solo film is on the table aswell.

    Dumb and Dumber To Teaser

The first preview to the upcoming sequel to my childhood comedy hit yesterday:

Jeff Daniels has come a long way since then with most recent success with The Newsroom. I’ve been looking forward to this reunion between him and Jim Carrey since that Twitter picture was posted. I’m going see this for pure nostalgia sake big time. Just seeing the Mutt Cutts sheep-dog van driving down the road or hearing some famous quotes again has me there. So many great funny setpieces like the airport chase, dream sequence, makeover montage, etc.

Harry’s ex-girlfriend that he talked about in the hot tub scene comes to the forefront. Dunne is gonna kill Lloyd for a second time since Penny Pichlow (Rachel Melvin) might turn out to be Christmas’ kid instead which makes this new attraction ten times creepy. Carrey’s age really shows at 1:18.

Unfornately death no longer matters this time with them out-of-context sadomasochisticly setting comedian, Rob Riggle (his Dennis Hopper Blue Velvet impression priceless) ablaze in the meantime this has turned into a live-action adult cartoon. The Farrelly Brothers’ first one (never will see that prequel) had real casualites to balance the slapstck like Mental (Mike Starr) accidently getting killed with his own rat poison in it’s place of his ulcer pills. That last bit with the grandmother was just wrong (not the good way). I’m not big on extreme raunchy humor.

    Vincent D’Onofrio is The Kingpin

Marvel announced that Edgar from Men in Black and Private Gomer Pyle (Full Metal Jacket) will play Wilson Fisk aka The Crime Lord of New York in the upcoming Man Without Fear’s internet series.

We’re incredibly proud to have an actor with the gravitas and versatility of Vincent joining ‘Marvel’s Daredevil’ in such an integral role, said Jeph Loeb, Marvel’s Head of Television. Wilson Fisk is an iconic villain whose cunning and power make him the dangerous equal of our hero.

A good pick to take on the role after the early Micheal Clarke Duncan. I really took interest in Hornhead before the meager movie came out even The Director’s Cut, read the first two volumes of Frank Miller’s run before he went crazy. Last read was Ed Brubaker’s The Devil Inside and Out storyline where Matt Murdock is sent to prison after his identity gets exposed which involves him and Fisk having to team-up against the inmates.

This is the one I’m most interested in seeing since Marvel Studios got the rights back from Fix more so then the others in the works like Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and Jessica Jones which leads into The Defenders series with Doctor Strange showing up after his film debut hopefully. I don’t think Agent Carter is going to last as much I like Haley Atwell as Peggy.

Me trying to imitate Kevin Grevioux’s voice pattern as The Reachian from the completely unjustifiable canelled Cartoon Network series.
