Return of the Ghostbusters – Now Playing

Been waiting for this fan film, and was it worth it?…HELL YA.

    Return of the Ghostbusters

    Posted Oct 30, 2007

The Mile High City is rocked when the paranormal eliminators face off against the forces of darkness in a battle.

There are a few gripes, but minor.

    The Goonies on Broadway?

With movie properties coming to broadway The Producers, Mary Poppins, news has came out from Joblo that The Goonies might light the stage.

Richard Donner has been trying to get another GOONIES movie made, whether a
sequel involving the original characters’ offspring, or a dreaded “re-imagining”
of the first flick, none of which proved convincing enough to Warner Bros. for
anything other than direct-to-DVD release, which Donner believes isn’t good
    enough for
    THE
    GOONIES
    (who ‘R’ good enough).

Now Donner is apparently trying a completely different route to get
GOONIES back in the flesh: Broadway. JoBlo reader ‘Mike B.’ just saw Donner at a
Q&A for SUPERMAN, and let us know the man’s plans: “What he is
actively pushing forward with to get off the ground is a Broadway play version
of the original. He specified that he had just met with Warner Brothers as
recently as yesterday, and that they’re enthusiastically in support of it.
Donner specified that while he will not be directing, he intends on taking on
the role of producer and wants “creative influence” over the production. That’s
    right from the horse’s mouth.”

    Fellow Joker to New Joker

MTV interviewed Jack Nicholson, the previous Joker from the Tim Burton 89′ film, about the new actor Heath Ledger playing The Clown Prince of Crime in “The Dark Knight”.

MTV: What do you think of another actor, Heath Ledger, playing the Joker in
    next summer’s “The Dark Knight”?

Nicholson: Let me be the way I’m not in interviews. I’m furious. I’m
furious. [He laughs.] They never asked me about a sequel with the Joker. I know
how to do that! Nobody ever asked me.

MTV: It was never brought up?

Nicholson: No. It’s like, in any area, you can’t believe the reasons things
do or don’t happen. Not asking me how to do the sequel is that kind of thing.
Maybe it’s not a mistake. Maybe it was the right thing, but to be candid, I’m
    furious.

MTV: I’m surprised to hear you sounding competitive about a role like that.

Nicholson: Well, the Joker comes from my childhood. That’s how I got
involved with it in the first place. It’s a part I always thought I should play.

MTV: Will you see the new film?

Nicholson: I’m not inclined to watch it because of what I said. But if it’s
a good movie, I’ll catch up with it somewhere. I don’t think they ever really
captured Tim Burton’s spirit [since he stopped being involved]. They kind of
drove the franchise into the ground. Tim Burton’s a genius. He had the right
take on it. That’s why I did the movie. I did the movie based on a single
conversation with him. We both come from the cartoon world originally. We had
similar ideas. Tim said [the Joker] should have a humorous dark side to him.
[Burton is] one of the great moviemakers. I think the world of him. He’s the
most unassuming man. And he doesn’t feel pressure. That’s what I love about him.
Once he’s in there, he’s smiling making the movie. That’s it!

Nicholson is entitled to his opinon.

    Captain Marvel Design

I saw this on the Superherohype forum, had to post this costume design of Brandon Molale, the recent talked about actor to play Captain Marvel in the upcoming film.

Overall the design is solid, a few gripes with it. First, the cape needs to be the traditional one sided cloak, hooked to the neckline of the collar, the hands need to be exposed, and the lastly the belt has to change back to the sasg to keep the ancient element, and less high tech.

    El Dragon Ball Z Shoot

It would seem that there still going to make a Dragonball Z movie.

Durango meets the needs in hotels, personnel, services like transportation,
equipment, stunts, restaurants. This movie will provide the city with 750 jobs
and an important flow of money,” said Susana Elósegui Cross (Turism &
Cinematography Director of Durango). The sets will be constructed this month and
shooting will begin in January and last through March. However, the movie cannot
filmed completely in Durango, so they will move to Estado De México for some
shots at Nevado de Toluca (an important volcano).Durango was chosen by Ariel
    Shaw, the special FX director.

    Dragon Ball Z is
about a young boy called Goku. He faces Evil Vegueta, who tries to destroy the
hero to prove that Goku is not the legendary warrior many believe he is.

James Wong is writing and directing, who did Final Destination 3, this has cheese written all over.

No Avengers Film..Not Any Time Soon

MTV Blog interviewed Marvel Editor -in-Chief Joe Quesada about an Avengers film not happening in the near future.

With casting of the “Justice League of America” movie well underway, one of
the biggest resulting questions is whether the Avengers, Marvel’s equivalent to
the JLA, will ever see their own cinematic chances realized.
    To get an
opinion directly from the source, we sought out Joe Quesada, Marvel’s
editor-in-chief, to get his take on the legendary superteam and what he thinks
the chances are of getting them assembled on the big screen.
    “Strictly
speaking as a fan, who wouldn’t want to see [an Avengers movie],” Quesada
    enthused.

    Writer’s Strike – UPDATE

I’m fully aware of the Writers Strike, this bit from Kryptonsite and from I’ve heard on fellow podcast, Starkville’s House of El, I’m getting very unsettled.

Smallville will not be immediately affected by the strike, at least to TV
viewers. TV series as a rule are already several episodes ahead on the writing
and filming. Additionally, the show has several scripts waiting in the wings
that, as far as we know, will still be filmed. We hear they were able to get up
to #15 or #16, and that the last one will end on a cliffhanger “just in case.”
If things are not resolved in adequate time, we MIGHT have a shorter season than
usual. The schedule for episodes in early 2008 may also be affected.

UPDATE – A statement came out on Kryptonsite from the show’s creators/producers.

We were able to complete scripts for 15 episodes. Episode 15 is a cliffhanger.
To the best of my knowledge, the studio plans to produce all of them. If there
isn’t a quick resolution, then the season ends in February. It is our wish that
this strike will be resolved quickly so that we can get back to doing what we
    love writing.

Guess this is gonna be a short season, my biggest fear is that show will not be picked up again from all these dumb new shows on The CW.
