    Gambit in “Wolverine: Origins”

A scooper on the SHH forum confirmed that Gambit will appear in the Wolverine film.

Scooper ‘Chaos Bringer’ has revealed on Superhero Hype!’s message
    boards
that “Friday Night Lights” star Taylor Kitsch will play Gambit (AKA
Remy LeBeau) in director Gavin Hood’s
    X-Men Origins:
    Wolverine
    . Kitsch has signed a three-picture deal.

He’ll be joining Hugh Jackman (Wolverine), Liev Schreiber (Sabretooth),
Danny Huston (William Stryker) and Lynn Collins (Silver Fox) in the 20th Century
Fox release, opening May 1, 2009.

Leading up to the events of X-Men, “Wolverine” tells the story of
Wolverine’s epically violent and romantic past, his complex relationship with
Victor Creed, and the ominous Weapon X program. Along the way, Wolverine
encounters many mutants, both familiar and new, including surprise appearances
by several legends of the X-Men universe.

I’m unfamilar with the actor, but at least Gambit is finally going to be in
    an X-Men movie of sorts.

With the “three picture deal”, it looks like their going to do a franchise. Hope the description isn’t a bunch of fluff.

    Chun Li and Company

According to Variety, with the casting of Kristen Krusek aka Lana “The Bitch” Lang as Chun Li in the new Street Fighter film, is reported some of the supporting actors.

Michael Clarke Duncan, Chris Klein and Rick Yune have joined the movie
based on the popular Japanese video game franchise.

Duncan will play Balrog, while Klein is stepping into the role of Nash.
Yune is taking on the mystical Gen.

Rounding out the cast are Moon Bloodgood, Taboo from the Black Eyed Peas,
Singapore’s Edmund Chen and Hong Kong film star Cheng Pei Pei.

Producers are still casting the film’s villain, Bison.

20th Century Fox will distribute the action pic, set to begin filming in
March. Shooting will take place in Bangkok, Hong Kong and Vancouver.

Andrzej Bartkowiak (Romeo Must Die, Exit Wounds) is directing from a script
written by Voltron writer Justin Marks. Hong Kong fight choreographer Dion Lam
(The Matrix) is handling the extreme fight sequences.

Ehh, could be interesting to see Michael Clarke Duncan as Balrog, but other then that, a musician in a movie when he or she doesn’t have any acting training or experience, bugs the hell out of me, like my gripe of Justin Timberlake in Black Snake Moan.

As I said in a previous Street Fighter post, I’m not gonna hold my breath.

First Look at Batman: Gotham Knight

This sneak peek was awsome, the footage from the shorts, it almost didn’t look like a Batman cartoon, I mean that in good way, it’s not traditional.

The preview of the short done by the animation company that did Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust looked great, can’t wait to see it.

Extra treat I loved in the segement that they used Batman: Child of Dreams as a blueprint.

    Star Trek Pushed Back

IESB.net reports that Paramount have decided to push back the new Star Trek film until 2009.

Move was part of a major reshuffling to the studio’s release calendar, as
    well as DreamWorks’ release calendar.

Studio insiders said “Star Trek” has the potential to gross more in May
    than in December.

That erks me, just when they hype was getting started, it abrubtly ends. We might not see a new trailer until late this year.
That “Gross more in May then December” seems a little bullshit to me.

    The Escapists Review

I heard about this on G4‘s Fresh Ink podcast. “A comic within a comic”? Well, it certainly lives up to that description.

What it meant for me was something I attempt to do from time to time, is to revamp a character, this for two months, I was trying to revamp Mailbu Comics‘ Ultraforce, and then Nightman.

About two months ago I finished reading this 6 issue mini-series from Dark Horse, and I was never drawn into a story since Marvel’s Bullet Points.

The story is about three independent publishers trying to reboot the golden age hero of the title of the story, and in the actual issues actually give insight of the three main characters. But things take a turn for the worse, when they decide to get attention by breaking into a grocery store that turns out to being robbed, to become the highly must watched video on the internet, then the greedy corporate heads try to frame them to get they copyright back, which result them to ending up with one gets nothing and someones takes an opportunity, and other gets caught in a jam.

But in the end, they receive a compliment to creator’s son for giving it a good shot, and that they ultimately have to do their own thing. To which I was fooled that it would be about their experience, but I can see it as being cliched. This is relatable and convincing.

    Rating: 9 1/2

    Indy 4 Trailer has Arrived

The teaser for Indy 4 is online.

Basically a recap, with new footage towards the end, but DAMN, it’s awsome.

My favorite quote “Damn, I thought that was closer.”

    First Look at Wolverine

USA Today have released the first image of Hugh Jackman in the upcoming Wolverine solo film.

He looks slim, but still extremely ripped.

Like I’ve said before I’ll there to see it in the theater, but I still don’t like the title “X-Men Origins: Wolverine’, I prefer “Wolverine: Origins”.
