    Spidey’s Ratings

Off air, Rob asked about when the season of Spectacular Spider-Man was ending and how the ratings were going. I didn’t have an answer.

Ratings for the series have continued to build over its first 10 episodes
as ‘The Spectacular Spider-Man’ has been posting tremendous numbers —
particularly over the past four weeks, oftentimes doubling the competition in
virtually all key demographics during both the 10 a.m. original episode time
slot, and the 9:30 a.m. repeat slot.

    Saturday, May 319:30 a.m. – Competition (repeat featuring Sandman)10:00
    a.m. – Group Therapy (premiere)

Saturday, June 79:30 a.m. — The Uncertainty Principle (repeat
    featuring Green Goblin, Hammerhead & Tombstone)10:00 a.m. — Intervention
    (premiere)

Saturday, June 149:30 a.m. — Persona (repeat featuring Black Cat,
    Chameleon & Spider-Man’s symbiote-enhanced black suit)10:00 a.m. — Nature
    vs. Nurture (premiere, season finale)

Sounds like the series is doing very well. It seems like this season is going to end with Eddie Brock turning into Venom.

    Transformers’ Stars Returning

SHH posted an article about what stars from the first Transformers will come back for the sequel.

We knew that Shia LaBeouf would be back and that Isabel Lucas and Rainn
Wilson (playing a college professor to LaBeouf’s new undergrad) had been added,
but now The Hollywood Reporter has also confirmed that Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel,
Tyrese Gibson and John Turturro will reprise their roles in the Michael Bay
    sequel.

The story was conceived by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, who wrote last
year’s Transformers, as well as Ehren Kruger, who wrote the screenplay. Filming
began in Los Angeles in recent weeks and is moving to Pennsylvania on June 2nd
    and then overseas.

As the story goes, I didn’t mind the human characters, minus the Australian hacker and John Turturro’s sometimes annoying character, their focus should shrink and the attention goes to the title characters as it should be.

But it set itself up with more Autobots and Decepticons coming to Earth, so it will be interesting to see who they bring in, besides Soundwave.

    The Sinister Six

CWKids has released an image and description for this week’s new episode of Spectacular Spider-Man.

“Group Therapy” starts quickly and never slows. With Electro’s help, Doctor
Octopus busts himself, Vulture, Sandman, Rhino and Shocker out of Ryker’s Island
prison to quench their mutual desire for revenge. Even with his new black alien
symbiote suit, Spider-Man finds The Sinister Six are more than he can
handle. Peter Parker might wish for an easier way out of this predicament
… but be careful what you wish for, Pete.

There coming back from hiatus in a big way with The Sinister Six. I’m confident that the villians will have an equal amount of screentime.
With the symbiote still around, Parker will start kicking the shit out of them one by one.

    Austin Powers 4?

According to Moviehole that there’s a rumor has been floating around about a fourth Austin Powers film.

Recent rumours suggesting a fourth “Austin Powers” movie being in the works were quickly
    debunked
by, well, someone who seems to think they know it’s not. Today
however, Jay Roach, director of the three “Powers” pics, told
    MTV
that the new movie is still a possibility.

The first one was funny, the second was even funnier, the third had a few chuckles but it had the exact same damn jokes from the previous, but reversed.
Making another would be lifeless, unless they come up with something new.

    Thor of Asgard

IESB has also confirmed that the Thor movie, the majority, will take place on his homeland of Asgard.

No director is attached at this time, but Feige says Marvel plans to announce
    one sometime this summer.

Also, he says they haven’t even talked about casting yet for the lead role
and have no idea who they plan to cast (Brad Pitt was rumored).

So far as the storyline, Feige says the film will be set in the world of
Thor, Asgard, and that it would not be a contemporary story.

That’s more good news after good news from Marvel. I think that the general public is tired of the superhero films that are earthbound, and are looking for something new.

Otherworldly can be done, as long as you have a sense of realism to it, like The Phantom Zone on Smallville being an endless desert or The Mustafar System, the lava planet in Star Wars.

    Cap’s Setting

As we’ve speculated on our video for last week, IESB has confirmed that the setting for Marvel Studio’s Captain America film will take place during the glory days of World War II.

IESB asked Feige if the Captain America film would be a period piece. He
confirmed yes, the story will take place during World War II, just like the
comic book origin story. He says they plan to remain very faithful to the source
    material and completely traditional.

Feige also confirmed that it was definitely the Captain America shield
that was seen in IRON MAN on Tony Stark’s work-station as he’s removing his suit
for the first time. It’s just an Easter Egg and probably won’t have
anything to do with the Capt. America story.

Yeah Right, Feige. As “traditional” goes I’m confident that they’ll not adapt the classic costume, cause I rewatched the crappy 90’s flick from youth, and it just looks weird as hell in live action, also mention the rubber ears.
As the Fury ending showed, they’ll adapt the best of both worlds, the modern and Ultimate universe in one.

    Our 25th Episode

Our 25th episode is finally here.

    Online Videos by Veoh.com

The video will be on the other sites very soon.

There is a typo at the end, I’ve spent all day finishing this that I don’t feel like fixing it all over again.

    Vandervoort Off Smallville?

According to TVGuide, that Laura Vandervoort was told by The CW that she’s not coming back as a series regular.

“As fans noticed in the CW’s upfronts announcement earlier this week, “They
announced the cast… and I’m not a part of it,” Vandervoort tells me, letting
out a self-effacing laugh. “We were all surprised when they chose not to bring
me back as a regular, but I’m sure I’ll be back for one or two [episodes]!””

Now naturally some people are saying the show is doomed and Clana is returning. Vandervoort is signed onto a shitty sequel to a shitty film, she’s working on it right now, the season runs from 2008 to 9, so yes she’s not a series regular, but she’s not gone forever, she’s a guest star like Rosenbaum.

Kara will be back for the second half for her and the cousin to become their iconic selves. But my concern that’s it’s going to be for one episode like Oliver Queen was this past season.

    WB on DC Properties

Yahoo touch upon Marvel setting an example for DC in terms of making movies and grossing box office numbers.

Well, actually, there is one big difference, as comic experts like Voiles
are quick point out: Marvel is its own entity, cutting its own deals, and even
financing its own movies. DC Comics is a subsidiary of Warner Bros.”Even higher
profile DC properties have to fight through other Warner priorities and projects
    to get made,” Voiles wrote.

To Jim Littler, webmaster of ComicBookMovie.com, the long-planned
Wonder Woman movie is a prime example of the superhuman challenges a DC
    superhero can face.

“Warner Bros. was able to get Joss Whedon at the helm—AND THEN THEY
REJECTED HIS SCRIPT! Joss Whedon of Firefly, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and more!”
Littler wrote in an email. “I’ll bet the DC people were crying when that fell
    apart.”

It still stands that Warner Bothers is being run by morons. Until they get they’re heads out of ass and start following what Marvel Studios has accomplished, they businesses will suffer and the remaining Batman franchise, if Nolan decides to leave, will be utterly destroyed.
