    Holmes Teaser

I do like him and Watson tackling the supernatural forces and the chemistry between Jude Law and Robert Downey Jr. But the lead character’s appearance is too drastically different from literaturally canon. The slow motion doesn’t work in the preview for the shirtless fight scene. Maybe in the movie it’ll be meaningful.

    Daddy Kirk as Thor?

According to Nikki Finke‘s LA Weekly website, that Jim’s father will play The Son of Odin.

Chris had read for the part of Thor but wasn’t given a test because a casting director had nixed him early on. I’m told Chris’ younger brother Liam (who’s also a ROAR client) then tested for the role of Thor, but Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige passed. Then, after a conversation with Ward (“You’ve got to reconsider Chris, he’s your guy”), Feige decided to let Chris read again.

And once Marvel put him on tape, it was “Oh my god”. Branagh came to town last week and saw the Chris test and made the final casting decision today.

Having seen Star Trek for second viewing, he was good in the first 5 minutes he was on screen. While I’m on the Skarsgard bandwagon, I admit comes across as a caricature. You need a performance that keeps it grounded despite the fantastic elements and situations which Pine pulled off so well.

    Chloe Sullivan is Dead

After what happened last night, Allison Mack’s character has officially become Drama Princess. The producers lost the spirit of what made this character special in Seasons 5 and 6.

    "Injustice" in 5 Seconds

Jessica Parker Kennedy came back to the show to deliver another bad performance that’s almost on par with Kristin Kruek.

hahahaha, wow. Yeah I’d have to agree there. Loved the episode, could have dealt without the actress. She gives me a 1990’s teen slasher sort of vibe. Now she’s gotta blow up everyone in Smallville because she lost the part to Neve Campbell in Scream. Shameful Jessica…Shameful.

    Clark vs. Doomsday

A sneak peek at the big battle. The end of the clip is clearly the takeoff from Hex and the previous seasons where he did fly. Hopefully that wasn’t all of the fight and the explosion as the episode’s cliffhanger would be a letdown of major purportions.

Superman: World of New Krypton #3

The Man of Steel goes the peaceful route of negotiations by shooting himself point blank with the military’s red solar weapons and just
    talk.

Tam-Or, leader of the Labor Guild demands Alura and members of the science division to take note of the issues of overwork and illnesses.

Kal-El’s plan prevails, but Commander Gor’s attempt to assassinate Tam is intervened by Kara. He’s called out on it and vents his anger on Clark. Zod allows the fight to ensue, until it’s interrupted by Green Lanterns John Stewart and Hal Jordon.

Next issue is Hal vs The Man of Tomorrow. Why? Guess his initial thought was “He joined the enemy, TRAITOR!”

    Season 8 Finale Preview

Ausiello of Entertainment Weekly released a peek from the last episode early before “Injustice” airs tomorrow night, which I’m skipping for an early Star Trek showing at the local Marquee Cineplex.

Davis and The Beast split by Black Kryptonite as fans speculated is confirmed. Bart and Dinah aren’t really surprised Oliver shoots Clark. The back up plan in case he didn’t go along with The League’s intentions that utterly fails.

The cliffhanger isn’t The Death of Boyscout, but The Return of Zod with his son being the vessel, maybe permanent one. If that’s to keep Sam Witwer on board, I’m all for it but the producers are only doing that to stretch the Doomsday arc for another season, not a good sign there. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens next week.

    Blackest Night #0

A prologue for the big Green Lantern event came out on Free Comic Book Day.

Hal Jordon and Barry Allen wake Batman’s “death” at Gotham Cemetery. The story just proves my point in my Flash: Rebirth review, that these two characters are irrelevant to the universe in general to this day in age. Black Hand makes his debut at the end by raising Bruce from his resting place, chanting the Black Corps’ oath.

“The Blackest Night falls from the skies. The darkness grows as all light dies. We crave your hearts and your demise. By my black hand, the dead shall rise!”

Johns reminds the reader of the color spectrum, unfortunately also of Grant Morrison’s Final Crisis with said murder and the demises of Aquaman and Martian Manhunter. Which the preview for the first issue shows their return along with some villains like Mirror Master.
