    Bill Dies For Real

Hate to be a downer with the good news that came out today. But this has to be addressed.

According to CNN, the star from Kung Fu: The Legend Continues and of course the Tarantino two
    parter, passed away at 72.

American actor David Carradine has been found dead in a Bangkok, Thailand, hotel, according to his personal manager, Chuck Binder.

Binder said Thursday that the death is being investigated but could provide no other details. The talk is he committed suicide and I refuse to believe that. This isn’t Heath Ledger, so the media shouldn’t react to this like that.

    R.I.P. Mr. Carradine.

    Vultan to Odin?

According to Bleeding Cool, leader of the Hawkmen himself, Brian Blessed is rumored to play The All-Father.

Blessed is best known for his roles as Caesar Augustus in I CLAUDIUS and King Of The Hawk Men in FLASH GORDON as well as being a charity campaigner and mountaineer.

He has appeared in a number of Kenneth Branagh productions, including HAMLET and AS YOU LIKE IT, famed for his booming voice.

Having past history with Kenneth makes it more possible that this amazing casting choice will happen. This would be as equivalent to Neeson playing Zeus in the Clash of the Titans remake.

    First Look at Jonah Hex

Even though photos of Megan Fox on the set came out earlier, I was antisapating to see a glimpse of Josh Brolin as the gunslinging bounty hunter. Now it’s finally here, from Screencrave.

Everything looks pretty accurate. I understand why the filmmakers didn’t go all out with the scarring, because it would’ve looked too much like Two-Face. With this and the casting of John Malkovich as the villain, my interest for this movie just went higher. Can a teaser trailer come out soon as possible?

    Total Recalled

Like Scream, Variety reports the Schwarzenegger film is also getting retooled.

Columbia Pictures has set Kurt Wimmer to write “Total Recall,” the remake of the 1990 sci-fi pic that starred Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The original scared the shit out of me as a kid, that to this day, I still can’t watch or look at a picture while making this post without running into a shot from the eye popping scene. Problem is Kurt wrote Ultraviolet, but he also did Equilibrium with Christian Bale which I liked.

Minus my phobia over this particular property, again this is another classic that should not be remade. Leave the classic movies alone.

    More Scream Movies

Continuing the “old turned new” trend going in Hollywood, EW says Ghostface is returning to screens aswell.

The mid-’90s franchise that sent-up slightly older horror flicks is being
remade into a whole new set of movies, starting this fall. Writer-director Kevin Williamson has been working on a trilogy that will bring back many of the characters from the original movies.

Liked the first one. Didn’t watch nor care for the sequels. All I remember was hottie at the time, Sarah Michelle Gellar didn’t survive in that or in I Know What You Did Last Summer.

Haven’t seen Neve Campell since Wild Things. No matter how much they’d pay her, she’ll do it either way. If the Arquettes are the only ones coming back, that just sounds like direct-to-DVD material to me like the surfin’ Lost Boys with Cory Feldman.

Overall, I think this franchise is unnecessary. Because the satire films kept pumping out, the mask lost it’s impact in pop culture as being scary.

    Rogue in First Class?

Anna Paquin said to IGN that she might reprise her role as the power draining mutant in the upcoming film about the younger generation of X-Men. Which includes Iceman, Angel, Jubilee, Shadowcat, and Colossus.

So would Paquin be up for playing Rogue again? “Absolutely. Yeah,” she told us. “I would hope I could do a little bit more action next time, though. I kind of find it ironic that I did three big action films and did, actually, no action whatsoever. I mean I got some really amazing emotional story moments, but I didn’t really get to do the physical stuff.”

A previous report said this movie takes place after the events of the subpar X3, so that “cure” will be out of the equation, she gets over Bobby Drake’s little fling with Kitty Pryde, and hopefully becomes the strong charming woman we all know and love from the comics and the first cartoon show. If that doesn’t happen, at least have her kick some ass for god sake.

As long as Wolverine doesn’t make a cameo appearance, I’ll be happy. But in said film, he stole Cyclops’ thunder, so Fox will probably bring in Hugh Jackman with the “continuity to the fans” excuse. Can’t we have one X-Movie without Logan’s presence being there all the time?

    First Look at Perseus

Slash Film shows us Sam Worrington as the legendary hero of Argos.

I thought Worrington was a little rusty in beginning of Terminator: Salvation, but as the film went on he got better. The tone this photograph presents is a mix of Gladiator with a God of War kind of vibe. Though, I wish he had longer hair and not so much of the Maximus crew cut. The article also tells what the story is going to be about.

Helpless to save his family from Hades (Ralph Fiennes), vengeful god of the underworld, Perseus volunteers to lead a dangerous mission to defeat Hades before he can seize power from Zeus (Liam Neeson) and unleash hell on earth. Leading a daring band of warriors, Perseus sets off on a perilous journey deep into forbidden worlds. Battling unholy demons and fearsome beasts, he will only survive if he can accept his power as a god, defy his fate and create his own destiny.

Hades waging war on Zeus and “accepting his role as a god”? Part of this synopsis sounds awfully like Disney‘s Hercules. Perseus is not a god, he’s only human. But to be fair, it’s got that Conan revenge type plot. I’m glad that Neeson is going to play Father of Olympus afterall, cause he can definitely play a badass, as Taken showed.

    Hugh Jackman Tribute

A great video I found on YouTube. Sung by the guys of Moron Life Music.

Hugh was the best host at The Oscars this year. Aside from Kevin Spacy who can act sing and dance, he’s right up there. Even though Van Helsing is in the video, I still find it humorous being a parody aswell.

    Green Lantern #41

Hal Jordon encounters Agent Orange deep in the caverns of the planet Okaara. While the leader of the Orange Lanterns has a meal of corpses, Hal makes a Muppets reference. In a trade to remove the blue ring, Larfleeze tells his backstory. His crew stole a map leading to the lost battery. As The Guardians and Manhunters attempt to stop them, the power of Greed causes the band of thieves start to killing each other. They make a deal to take the box that contains Pallarax while the battery stays with him in the Vega System. Meanwhile the other Lanterns are locked in battle with Larfleeze’s minions, John Stewart is almost torn apart but is saved by Star Sapphire member, Fatality.

In a effective shock value, Hal loses his right hand where the ring accepts the alien of Ogattoo as a member of the Blue Lantern Corps. I was skeptical about the ending, but it still was decent read.

    GL Fan Made Preview

Star Trek raised the bar of the scifi genre to such a high standard that I’m not certain even The Emerald Crusader can surpass. I hope so, cause it’s mythology has such rich material behind it, that the general public haven’t seen before and could blow people’s minds if done well.

Wasn’t too big on Nathan Fillion until his vocal performance in the animated Wonder Woman feature. While Terminator, Sam Worrington is in the current running, I’ll give Nathan the benefit of the doubt, if cast in the lead role.
