Tom Welling at Comic Con

Here comes the news from this weekend’s San Diego convention. The leading actor is confirmed by The CW to show up for tomorrow’s panel.

Calling all “Smallville” fans! Series star and co-executive producer Tom Welling will make his first-ever appearance at the world’s greatest pop culture convention, Comic-Con International: San Diego, this Sunday, July 26.

A big announcement is supposed to happen aswell. Rumors have been circulating about a Metropolis DTV movie to some conceptual art of a super-suit Clark might be wearing this year.

I’m all for a film to end the show, but I take issue with the idea of an outfit on the show at this point, if that ends up being true. He moves forward with his alter ego because of “Henry’s” death and his friends screwed him over is just wrong on every level. For god’s sake, this isn’t Batman.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they did this just for the buzz and by the time it airs, they drop it halfway through or at the end like they did to Doomsday.

From what producer, Brian Peterson said about this “Major” Zod story arc, sounds downright terrible. Maybe Tom being the executive might be the ray of sunshine through the storm cloud that Smallville really needs right now.
