Some Lantern Movie Info

* They’re definitely going with the Hal Jordan version of Green Lantern.
Right from the start, it was always going to be the test pilot. As casting goes, Josh Harnett. I was impressed by his performance as The Lady Killer in Sin City, not so big of him in 30 Days of Night. He’s basically a hit or miss.
* A lot of time will be used to establish the character of Hal Jordan, so that audiences can connect with him prior to acquiring the ring that gives him his superpowers.
In the beginning, you have to establish the person before they don the costume, if done well ala Nolan’s first Batman film.
* Big stakes and big action, but there will be humor in the film (think a similar tone to Iron Man, rather than The Dark Knight).
This franchise deserves to have threats that endangers the world, not just the life of the character unlike Spider-Man. Moments of Hal attempting to use the ring could be just as funny as Stark’s flight attempts.
* They are in pre-production, they have a production designer and a costume designer and they’re heading to Australia next week to scout locations.
Hopefully some official casting comes out in the upcoming months. The costume should be a mix between the Fantastic Four and X-Men uniforms with some practical besides visual effects for the glowing green energy.
* They are NOT going for a younger Hal Jordan – they’re looking for someone in their late 20’s/early 30’s.
I knew that Anton Yelchin news wasn’t true. Overall, Donald knows what he’s talking about as opposed to Jon Peters being completely clueless on Superman’s history.
