Nightwing #149


I read an issue of Nightwing during The Resurrection of Ra’s Al Ghul storyline, but that was it. So I’ve pick up the latest one. The outline sounded interesting, Grayson vs his mentor’s greatest foes.

First off, affected by Scarecrow’s fear gas, the protector of Blüdhaven, as another commenter said, the fight sequences were brutal, although the Mr. Freeze encounter was bad ass. I have to call into question, did he actually kill Freeze or was that a figment of his imagination? Cause he just crossed the line right there. Probably not. The highlight is, as always The Joker beating Dick, Jason Todd style with his trademark murder weapon.

Two-Face looking like Aaron Eckart was nice, but his hair changed midway in the comic. Little inconsistency there. Freeze’s dialouge didn’t make the scene better, cause it reminded me almost of Schwarzenegger’s bad ice puns. Sucks what they did to the character in the comics of recent years.

Carol’s death did have some impact. “Fight, you Bitch!” from The Abyss came to mind. But I haven’t been following the books to know the character. But Harvey’s personalities are crazy as ever. An okay read.
