Singer on Superman Sequel

It’s been long time since we heard anything moving forward news about the next Superman film, Bryan Singer has finally come out to talk to Empire.

“Singer knows that there was some negative reaction to the fact that the
first film focused more on story at the expense of action and is looking to
redress that next time.

“The first one was a romantic film and a nostalgic film,” he says. “I’ll be the
first person to own up to that without making any apologies for it. I knew
it
was going to be that from the outset. And now that the characters are
established, there’s really an opportunity to up the threat levels…Clearly
there’ll be a body count [laughs]. From frame one, it will be unrelenting
terror! All those teenage girls who found the movie and mooned over James
Marsden or Brandon? Well, I’m going to wake them up!” He may be joking about
the
unrelenting terror.

Singer sounds like he’s not taking the matter seriously. All of us here were underimpressed with Superman Returns, while it did have highlights, The Plane Sequence, Luthor kicking the shit out The Man of Steel, the overall film was weak, it was like a baby that couldn’t stand on it’s on two feet which had to be fed by the nostalgia of it’s parent, and when things didn’t work it through a temper tantrum.

What I think should happen, is probably everyone else is just revamp like what Marvel is doing with The Hulk, which the preview airs tommorrow, it’s gonna rule.

As far as big baddie, the answer should be friggin obivous, BRAINIAC, not the mad scientist with his monkey version, the A.I. of Kal-El’s birth planet that was originally created by Alan Burnett on Superman: The Animated Series and later used in Smallville.
